Lake Presidential 2018 Recap

Contributed by Sean Naylor

Back-to-back wins for Kelly Holliday in the Championship Flight of the DC Metro Tour. Last weekend, Holliday earned the top spot at Potomac Shores. On Saturday, he came out victorious with a phenomenal round, a 1-over-par performance. Holliday made nine pars and four birdies. Adam Dodson took second (78), thanks to seven pars and four birdies. Aaron Grocholski finished a stroke behind Dodson for third.

Like the Championship Flight, the top three players in the A Flight had round totals less than 10-over-par. Jimmy Bryant used 10 pars and three birdies to earn the win with a 76. James Beresh placed second (79) – he recorded seven pars and two birdies. Joe Rapp, who had nine pars and a birdie, finished a stroke behind Beresh.

Ben Hall led the way in the B Flight with an 80. Hall made nine pars and two birdies. Jack Pereira carded an 83, good for second. He also registered three birdies, two of which came on the back. Julian Baniwas rounded out the top-3 with an 85.

Cephas Franklin carded a 42 on the front and back Saturday, en route to the top spot with an 84. From there the C Flight saw a lot of ties! Sam Cabalar and Manny Gomes finished in a two-way tie for second with a 90 while Sean Green and John Pleasant tied for fourth (92). Ties continued for the sixth and eighth places.

Shawn Doyle is the second DC Metro Tour member to come away with back-to-back wins after a victory Saturday at Lake Presidential. Doyle used a card of 91 to take the top spot in the D Flight. Shaggy Brown and Dan Delmore tied for second (93) while Don Cherry took fourth (96).
