The Ridge at Castle Pines North Results - May 12, 2012
The Denver Tour season opened at The Ridge at Castle Pines North with 40 degrees, cloudy skies and the threat of rain. The unseasonable weather soon gave way to comfortable temperatures, a little unexpected sunshine, and some great competition among 75 local players.
In the Championship Flight, tour veteran and multiple winner Chris Longfellow posted a one under 70 to capture his first victory of the 2012 season. Gary Driber, playing in the group ahead of Longfellow, closed the gap with Longfellow, but fell one shot short with a par 71. Dallas Massey closed out the money winners placing third with a 73.
Tour rookie Corey Davidson won the A Flight in a scorecard playoff over another rookie, Ron Swartzwelder, both posting 81. In third place was John Delaney's 82, another scorecard playoff with Jay Holland.
The B Flight was led by Brent Grube, winning with an impressive 6 stroke lead and posting a 79. Returning veterans Doug Coleman and Niloy Phukan finished 2nd and 3rd with 85 and 86 respectively.
Tour rookie Jodie Streeter posted her first tour victory with a solid 83. 2nd place went to Troy Tiers with an 84. 3rd place was decided by a scorecard playoff with Dennis Fenner defeating John Allen, both shooting 92.
The D Flight was won by Connor Schlaff's 93. Brad Barnes, on active duty in the Air Force, travelled from South Dakota for his first tour event and took home 2nd place with a 95. 3rd place went to David Killinger with a 97.
