What is the East Michigan Tour

The GOLFWEEK Amateur Tour of East Michigan is the Premiere Amateur Golf Tour dedicated to East Michigan Amateur Golfers of all skill levels. No qualifying required. For men and women, young and old. We use some of the best championship golf courses in East Michigan to host our tournaments making your experience the best possible tournament atmosphere that we can produce.

So, how do I join and what do I do next?...

Select the 'Join the Tour' button on the left of this page to submit your player registration and membership payment.
Once we receive your registration and payment, we will send you an e-mail with additional information and confirmation of your eligibility.
Now that you are a member, click on the corresponding link under the event of interest under the schedule on the right side of this page.
On the tournament page, click on the PayPal button to submit your tournament entry fee.
When your entry fee has been received and processed, we will send you an e-mail confirmatin of your registration for the event and you are all set!

Tour Membership

You are allowed to play in as many or as few East Michigan events as you would like. As an added membership benefit, you are also allowed to play in any of the 45 other tour's events throughout the country (including West Michigan)! For every East Michigan event that you play in, you will gain season long points that could potentially pay your way to the National Championship in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina at the end of the season.

How Our Tournaments Work

When you sign up for the tour, we will place you into a flight based on your current USGA Index or by making a determination based on your average scores. During the tournaments, you will compete against other players from your flight in a true stoke play event. You will compete for pre-paid Visa or MasterCard Gifts Cards and also an etched crystal trophy for the 1st place winner in each flight. Prize Pay-Outs are based on the amount of players in your flight. We will take $20 per player for a Standard event and $40 per players for a 2 Day Major event and add it to the prize pool. For every 4 players in the flight, we will add another place to pay out. Please click on the link below to view the complete prize pay-out matrixes for both Standard and 2 Day Major events.

We also have optional cash games at each event. These include Skins Games based on Flight, Super Skins which includes all flights together and Closest to the Pin.

Then, based on what place you took in that tournament, you will be awarded season points no matter what place you finished for the event. For each half of the season and for each flight, the highest points winner for each half season will have half of their entry fee to the National Championship in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina paid for. The Season Long Points Winner for each flight will be awarded a special trophy and we will also pay for their next year's Membership to the Tour!

- Championship Flight: 0 to 3.9 Handicap
- A Flight: 4.0 to 8.9 Handicap
- B Flight: 9.0 to 13.9 Handicap
- C Flight: 14.0 to 18.9 Handicap
- D Flight: 19.0 and Higher Handicap
