The top-3 finishers in the A Flight finished a stroke behind each other. A par on the 17th gave Al Hyjek the one-stroke lead an eventual win over James Earnhardt, 76-77. Chris Lombardozzi placed third (78).

Josh Calhoun earned a win the B Flight with a score of 80. He birdied three straight holes at one point. Cliff Suit, from the Charlotte Tour, took second (86) while Robert Luter rounded out the top-3 with a card of 88.

The difference maker in the D Flight came on the 17th hole. Jeremy Wilson took a one-stroke lead over Merle Sauvola after making a par – Sauvola recorded a triple bogey. Both shot a bogey on the 18th – Wilson earned the 89-90 win over his Upstate Tour competitor. Les Schofield took third (97) while Greg Minton carded a 99 for fourth.

In the special Team Stableford side competition, the winning team was Al Hyjek (A Flight), Nick Hinton (B Flight) and Tim Newman (C Flight). This once-a-season event provides members a chance to play with people from different flights and promotes camaraderie within the tour. Be sure to look for it on next year’s schedule!
