Coosaw Creek Country Club Tournament Winners!

Charleston Tour Opens With A Bang At Coosaw Creek! The Charleston Division of the Egolf Amateur Tour opened up their 2010 Tour Season at Coosaw Creek GC in North Charleston, SC. The weather was threatening all day with some winds and clouds and the course was still wet from all the rain we have received lately which made some of the scores higher than usual. The Championship flight saw a close battle with Jordan Lamb (Bluffton, SC) come out on top with an 82. Finishing second was Brooks Varn (Santee, SC) with an 84. The "A" flight winner is no new comer to winning on the tour; Jace Gause (Goose Creek, SC) fired an 84 to claim the top spot. Biff Huff (Charleston, SC) shot 86 to take second place. Biff has been with the tour four years and in February he will be leaving Charleston for California. He has been a staple of the Charleston Tour and we will miss him. Hopefully he can get back now and again and play some with us. James Jaco (Ladson, SC) fired an 88 to claim the third place finish. The "B" flight also had a familiar winner as Eric Tobias (Mt. Pleasant, SC) shot a smooth 81 to capture the first place win. Finishing in second place was Tim Sumption (Summerville, SC) with an 83. Denny Miller (Charleston, SC) shot an 85 to claim the third place spot. Richard Cairns (Summerville, SC) fired a 91 to take first place honors in the "C" flight. Richard only had 32 putts which helped him claim the win. Will Seastrunk (Summerville, SC) and Adam Canady (St. George, SC) both fired 93's with Will taking second place on a scorecard playoff. Newcomer Max Velazquez (Mt. Pleasant, SC) blistered Coosaw Creek with an 81 to claim the first place in the "D" flight. With the win Max also earned a promotion up to the "C" Flight. Congrats to Max on a great score! Finishing in second place was Lyle Whitten (Charleston, SC) with a 100. Third place went to another newcomer, Calvin Griffin (Savannah, GA) with a 101. The Charleston Tour will be playing their next event at Wild Dunes (Harbor Course) on Saturday February 6. If you would like to come join us, please register on the Charleston Schedule page.
