44 Players from the Chicago and Milwaukee Golfweek Amateur Tours ascended upon Bull Valley Golf Club in Woodstock, IL for the inaugural grudge match. The tournament was 36 holes of "Ryder Cup" style matches and the players were invited to participate in the event through their position in their respective Chicago and Milwaukee Cup point standings.

The morning matches saw Team Chicago race out to an early lead in the FourBall matches, as they won 8 of the 11 matches.  In the afternoon FourSome matches Team Milwaukee fought their way back into contention as the teams split the session.  Day one ended with Team Chicago holding onto a 6 point advantage, however with 22 points on the line in the Singles matches, anything could happen.

Day two saw better weather and a more difficult course as the greens were rolling!  Team Milwaukee put a charge into the leaderboard early on and put a few flags on the board as they threatened a comeback, however in the end, the lead Team Chicago built was too much to overcome.  The clinching point came when Kennedy Grear closed out his match.  Team Chicago was victorious to the tune of 27-17.

“It was a great weekend of golf at Bull Valley, all players enjoyed themselves and the course was amazing” said Chicago captain Rob Maguire.

“We’ll come back next year and be stronger, it was a great introduction for the Milwaukee group, they will be hungry next year for some redemption” said Milwaukee captain Matt Grubich.

Chicago Team MVP honors go to a trio of players as all earned a perfect 3-0 record over the weekend.  Those players are: Kennedy Grear (B), Jeff Lewandowski (A), & Roy Robbins (C).

Milwaukee Team MVP honors go to a trio of players that earned 2 points a piece and include: Paul Langhenry (CH), Nic Paulsen (CH), & Chris Wood (D).
