Tony Bostic used five birdies – four on the back nine – and seven pars for a 1-over performance and victory in the Championship Flight. Aaron Grocholski finished two strokes behind Bostic while Kelly Holliday and Roger Munoz, of the Tidewater, VA tour, finished in a two-way tie for third (77). Holliday knotted up the score with a birdie on the 16th. The two then pared the final two holes.
Consistency was key for Kevin Murray in the A Flight. Murray made a birdie on the 16th hole and added 11 pars en route to a win (76). Mike Garland placed second (78) while Chris Crawford, Fran Marks and Tim Robinson finished in a three-way tie for third. Crawford made three birdies on the round and Marks, of the Birmingham, AL tour, recorded an eagle on the 13th hole.
The B Flight had two eagles on Saturday. Alex Hur made one on the 16th hole. He also notched two birdies and seven pars on the winning card (75). Daniel Donovan, who had the flight’s second eagle, finished two strokes behind Hur while Craig Morton edged out Ben Hall for third, 81-82.
Milton Tyrrell trailed Jim Jobson by three strokes heading into the back. The two exchanged leads throughout but the difference-maker came on the final two holes when Tyrrell knotted up the score at 79 before taking the lead and the win on the 18th (83). Jobson carded an 85 while Austin Rovito and John Pleasant rounded out the top-3 with an 86.
Nick Klapaska took the top spot in the D Flight with an 87. James Key, Mac McLaughlin and James Briggs finished in a three-way tie for second (93). Charles Leggett and Tabari Baker used scores of 94 to tie for fifth.
