Deer Creek Golf Club Results

The 4th event of the year on the Indianapolis Tour was held at Deer Creek Golf Club.  The day started off with questionable weather, but it quickly turned into a great day on the golf course.

Nathan Allen and 3-time National Champion Robbie Robinson went toe to toe in 'A' Flight.  Robbie was visiting from the Orlando Tour and Nathan was participating in his third event of the year.  After the front 9, Nathan had a 3-stroke lead and was able to maintain that lead thru 14 holes.  On the par 5, 15th Robbie hit an incredible shot from the fairway to 5 feet from the hole.  He was able to convert the putt for birdie and cut Nathan's lead to 2 shots with three holes to go.  Nathan was able to regain a 3 shot lead following the par 3 sixteenth.  The 17th is a difficult dog leg par 4 with a out of bounds and peninsula green.  Nathan stumbled on 17, but was able to retain a 2 shot lead going into 18.  Robbie played the the final hole perfectly resulting in a par, applying the pressure to Nathan.  Nathan was able to two putt from across the green for par and secure his 2nd victory of the season.

T.J. Schwarz continued his steady play in the 'B' Flight leading him to another victory with a score of 87.  T.J. also lead the Skins count with 3 skins on the day.

The 'C' Flight was won by Jim Allen.  Jim finished the back 9, with the best score of the day with a 42.  His total of 88 lead him to his third victory of the year.

Darrell Davis and Casey Stansbury battled it out in the 'D' Flight.  Darrell had a four shot lead after the front 9.  On the 13th hole Casey started to make his move. With three holes to go Darrell had a 2 shot lead with the difficult 17th left to play.  Over the last three holes, Darrell and Casey traded shot for shot allowing Darrell to hang onto a 2 shot victory.

Derek Carlson and his staff at Deer Creek Golf Club welcomed us with open arms and made us feel right at home.  The course was in great shape and we look forward to returning next year.

The next event is at Timbergate Golf Course on June 25.
