The Golfweek Amateur Tour renews in Las Vegas!
Las Vegas Local golfers will again
have a tour to call their own as the popular Golfweek Amateur Tour revamps its
schedule to the Las Vegas area with an impressive schedule for 2020. The Golfweek
AGT hosts a lineup of 9 local tournaments beginning January 18th through September 27th. The new season opens at TPC Las Vegas additional
stops and concludes with the Local Major Finals at Boulder Creek Golf Club.
The tour is for
amateurs of all ages and abilities. Members are placed in one of five flights
based on handicaps. Flights are: Championship (0-3.9 handicap), A Flight
(4.0-8.9), B Flight (9.0-13.9), C Flight (14.0-18.9) and D Flight (19.0-and above). This
flight structure has always ensured even more competitive play within each
format is gross stroke play, with USGA rules in effect. A software program
tracks each player’s handicap to ensure participants are placed in their proper
flight. Once you begin playing on tour,
the integrity of each flight is kept, and many players will be moved up in
flights during the season. Also, each tournament has live scoring so players
know how they always stand on the golf course, and friends and family can watch
the scoring on our web page.
director’s Kreg Klaver & Hendra Wijaya have assembled a schedule of nine tournaments
on some of the area’s premier courses. In addition to the opening venue, tour
