Tapawingo Tournament Recap

The St. Louis Tour continued the "Playoff Push" at Tapawingo after pelting rain storms forced a delay, play resumed a week later. It was an exciting day that had many members gaining points and positioning themselves in the Final Foursome, giving them a chance to take home the St. Louis Cup at Bogey Hills CC.

Champ Flight

Adam Lewis picked a great time to get his first win on tour, as he won by 4 shots. Lewis's day included 4 birdies to lift him to the tournament champion! Second place went to JD Sabio and third place went to to Marco Tallerico.

With Timmy Hill in the clubhouse, Chad Henry went ahead and finished his round with a chip in birdie on 18 to force a sudden death playoff. Henry and Hill went back out on the course to determine the champion, unfortunately Henry found some trouble off of the tee on the first playoff hole and Hill took advantage and rolled in his putt to win. Third place went to to Tim Mayer. Remember if anyone of the Final Foursome claims the tournament title at Bogey Hills, they will win the St. Louis Cup!

B Flight

Chad Crawford made it a playoff sweep and won back to back events. Crawford playing under the local flight freeze earned a 3 shot victory at Tapawingo. Crawford's late season surge has put himself in the 5th spot just outside the Final Foursome in the B Flight, but still with a chance to win the St. Louis Cup. Second place went to Scott Nishmura, while Memphis tour Director Bart Watkins took third, not a bad showing for his trip up.

Another player, playing well at the right time is Sudhakar Injamuri! After a second place finish at Pevely Farms, Injamuri claimed his first tour victory in dramatic fashion. 18 holes was not enough to determine a champion, Injamuri and Kenny Jackson played an extra couple holes to determine who would win the title. When the dust settled, Injamuri claimed victory on the 20th hole (2nd playoff hole)! Third place went to Colin Dooley.
