The Upstate and Atlanta Tours came together Saturday. Competition was tight, which included one-stroke differentials and a father-son combo winning their respective flights.
Scott Kennedy opened up the round with a birdie. From there, he added eight pars en route to the top spot in the Championship Flight (82).
The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree as Scott’s son, Dustin Kennedy, earned the win in the A Flight with a 78. He made two birdies and nine pars during the round. Dan Constantino placed second (80) while Greg Moore rounded out the top-3 with an 83.
Travis Blackwell took the top spot in the B Flight with an 83. Al Sheppard, of the Atlanta Tour, placed second (86) while Bill Russell, Chris Franklin and Kevin Thomas finished in a three-way tie for third (87).
It was a battle in the C Flight as the top six spots were separated by just two strokes. Brandon Williams earned the win (88), edging out three individuals – Jarrett Keyes and Taylor Trapani, both of the Atlanta Tour, and Darren DeCroock – who carded an 89. Scott Cain and Jimmy Sullivan, who both made one birdie, finished in a two-way tie for fifth (90).
Darrell Arledge made two birdies in the D Flight win (88). Don Price, of the Atlanta Tour, placed second with a 92 while Steve Burruss, also of the Atlanta Tour, carded a 95, good for third.
