What an amazing weekend in Bella Vista, AR at the Scotsdale Golf Course! We hosted the first ever Ozark Cup which featured Arkansas vs Kansas. This was a hard fought battle! Even though Arkansas won by 12 points, seventeen of the thirty-eight singles matches were decided by one hole or less...meaning either team could have easily walked away the champions!
Arkansas had eight players with a perfect 3-0-0 record this past weekend and are therefore the TEAM ARKANSAS MVPS!! Those players are:

Best Ball:
- To start the day, there was excitement and nerves in the air! The atmosphere was buzzing - players were eager to tee off and represent their states.
- Several players took part in some fun trash talking - team pictures were taken on both sides. Finally, the cannon went off! With a defining roar, Arkansas vs Kansas began!
- By the end of the morning round, Arkansas jumped out to a 5-point lead by going 10-5-4!
- The strong play was led by Reagan Cain / Mike Nevens (Won 6&5), Jerry Homishak / Kenny Holeyfield (Won 7&6), & Jay Williams / David Eslinger (Won 6&4)
Modified Alternate Shot:
- While some players got upwards of two hours to get some needed rest and relaxation, other players had a 20 minute turnaround. After grabbing a quick lunch, players embarked on the Alternate Shot portion of the event.
- The heat, long day, and new format proved to be a challenge in the afternoon. Arkansas barely edged Kansas in the Alternate Shot portion of the Ozark Cup going 9-8-2 across all matches
- Chandler Cain / Anna Cain (Won 6&5), Patrick Eaton / Davis Spragg (Won 9&7), Nick Taylor / Luke Lewis (Won 5&4), and David Eslinger / Jay Williams (Won 4&3) led Team Arkansas with decisive wins
- Captains Phil Turner and Traci Taylor made two crucial lineup changes that netted Arkansas with 1.5 more points in battleground matches vs the morning rounds

- Heading into Day 2 with a lead, Arkansas knew it needed focus.
- Jerry Homishak (Won 8&6), Kenny Holeyfield (Won 6&4), Mike Nevens (Won 5&3), Rob Luter (Won 5&4), Brad Cain (Won 5&3), David Eslinger (Won 6&5), Danny Robinson (Won 4&3), Todd Carter (Won 5&4), Russ Caughron (Won 4&3) and Jay Williams (Won 4&3) led Team Arkansas with exceptional play!
- Arkansas went an impressive 20-15-3 in the Singles matches. Winning the Ozark Cup by a final score of 44 to 32!
- While Arkansas won by an impressive 12 points, seventeen of the final day matches were decided by a single hole.
