As a Golfweek Amateur Tour Member, you will receive membership into a -USGA compliant club through and issued an official USGA index.

Within 60 days of joining the tour and filling out the 2018 registration, each member will receive an email from USHandicap with instructions on how to sign into your account. You will not be able to access your Silver membership until you receive the confirmation email. Nothing will be mailed, everything will be done via email address.

Augusta Golfweek Amateur Tour

The Augusta Amateur Tour is in Full Swing!!!

The Augusta GWAT 2018 schedule has started and is in full swing!!!  The first event was the two day, regional Dixie Classic tournament at Reynolds Plantation.  Despite the rain on Sunday, this was a fanastic event at a top notch course.  Based on the response, it is expected that this event will be bigger and better in the years to come.  If you are interested in playing competitive golf with people of your same skill level, if you would like to play some great courses, and if you are intersted in making some new golfing buddies, consider joining the Augusta Golfweek Amateur Tour.,  For additoanl information, contact tour director Phil Robinson at 706-414-1170 or e-mail Phil at

Dixie Regional Tournament at Reynolds Plantation

The Atlanta, Augusta, and Columbia tours had a joint regional event at Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, GA on January 27th and 28th.  The event was considered a major and counted for double points.  Reynolds Planation is an outstanding course on Lake Oconee in Greensboro, GA.  Despite the rain on Sunday, some excellent golf was played.  Here are the results.

Dixie Classic Regional Tournament Results


Champ Flight:  In the Champ flight, Matt Bersteinn of the Atlanta tour came from 5 shots back after day one and shot 79 (2 birdies) in the Sunday rain for the win.  First round leader Wayne McKenney and new tour member Steven St Clair, both from the Augusta Tour, tied for 2nd place two strokes back (163 total).   2nd year Augusta Tour member Ben Barrs got 4th place (173 total)

A Flight:  Augusta Tour Veteran Chet Dye continued his fine, consistent play from last year and shot 76, 75 for a tournament low of 151 and a 12 stroke victory in the A flight.  Mike Lynch of the Charlotte tour shot 163 total for 2nd place.  Johnathon Niemela of the SC Upstate tour shot 165 total for 3rd and new Eastern NC tour member Warren Hackler shot 169 for 4th.

B Flight:  In the B flight, Kevin Thomas of the SC Upstate tour and Garrick Hill of the Atlanta tour were tied after 36 holes at 177 total.  Kevin Thomas got the win after a 1 hole playoff.  Norman Picker of the Augusta tour bounced back after a bad first day with a 86 the 2nd day and tied new Atlanta tour member Jamie Elder at 182 for 3rd place.

C Flight:  Xin Zhang of the Charlotte tour took 1st place with a 2 day total of 174.  Jimmy Chang, also of the Charlotte tour, got 2nd with 183 total.  Cliff Austin of the Nashville tour took 3rd with 184 and Amalaraj Irudayara of the Indianapolis tour shot 189 for 4th.

D Flight:  Will Ray of the Charlotte tour took 1st in the D flight with a 2 day total of 179. Crys Peyton of the Columbia tour got 2nd place, 195 total.  Tied for 3rd place was Joseph Jones, also of the Columbia tour, and James Mason of the Atlanta tour at 196 total.

The next Augusta Amateur Tour tournament will be at Belle Meade Country Club in Thomson, GA at 10 am on Saturday, February 17th.  The tournament fee is $75 and may be paid on line or at the course.
