After a rain out for our first event of the 2019 season, the weather cooperated for a gorgeous, but windy day in Alma, Arkansas. 50 players descended on Eagle Crest on a sunny Saturday afternoon. The course was a little wet in spots, but playable.
In the Champ flight, there was only one contestant, so Kyle Thompson started his season with a win and a score of 92. He was probably going after those pins to get some superskins.
In the A flight, tour director, Jerry Homishak shot a 78 for a 4 shot victory over Landon Green (82). 3rd in the A flight was LR Gardner with an 84
The B flight was lead by Casey Mooney with a strong 77 to win by 8 strokes over Dale Stringer (88). Keith Greenfield came in 3rd with an 87.
The trend for runaway wins continued in the C flight. Jay Williams shot an 82 for a 6-stroke victory over 2nd place finisher, Rob Luter (88). Tied for 3rd were Travis Williams and Mike Myers with identical 91s. Travis got the 3rd place nod by having a better back 9 by one stroke.
D flight drama came right down to the last group and the last hole. Larry Hunter needed to par the last hole to avoid a 3-way playoff. With a par and an 89, he came out on a top over John Cochran and Al Jones with 90s. John got the second place finish with the better back 9 than Al. Josh Arrowood finished 4th with a 94.
