Thank you to all players who participated this past Sunday at Pipestone Golf Club! It was a great day for some golf as players in each flight battled it out for the Pipestone hardware and some cold, hard cash on the side. A great venue for our 8th official tournament of the season.

Championship flight is our first flight of the day. Joe Goldschmidt was our winner. Goldschmidt was able to shoot a one over par round of (73), with five birdies on the day, holding off Deontey Kenner (75), winning the championship by two shots.

Kenner finished second, knocking in a birdie on the day, putting himself in position to win but coming up two shots back. Nonetheless, a solid round.

Greg Richmond finished third with a (76). Richmond was able to grab two birdies on the day, putting himself in contention to win.

A flight is second. Mike Bales captured his second win on the season, shooting (76) with two birdies. Bales played brilliantly all day, making clutch putts and hitting precise shots, putting himself in position to hold off Tom Burlison (77) by one shot to clinch the championship.

Burlison, who finished second, was able to contend to win, coming up a hair short in the end. Still a solid performance on the day, being able to consecutively position himself for most of the season atop the leader board.

Alex Smith shot 78, finishing a respectable third with one birdie, continuing his solid start to the season.

B flight witnessed Bill Butts capture the title in dramatic fashion. Winning with a clutch 20 foot birdie on 18, in the first hole of a playoff with Darryl Smith. Both players shot (79), leading to the playoff, where Butts was able to deliver the final blow.

Matthew Sato finished third, shooting 81, wrapping up the top 3 performers in the B flight at Pipestone.

C flight is next. Golfweek veteran Stan Ley caught fire, shooting (83), putting himself back in the winners circle again this year with a solid performance. Ley was able to hold off Dustin Bandy, T.J. Alhassan & Shea Hartwig, all finishing one stroke back (84). "It was tough putting these greens today", said Ley. "I was fortunate enough to make enough putts to win".

Bandy, who was atop the leader board throughout the day, finished second, ultimately could not catch Ley, nullifying his chance in the end with an (84).

Alhassan was able to card a respectable (84), to finish third, locking his spot in the top three for the tour's eighth tournament of the season.

D flight is the final group of the day. Jose Taule (85) was able to raise the trophy in the end, separating himself from the rest of the field in what was a tight leader board, winning by three strokes and capturing the title.

Eric Combs (88) finished second. Combs was able to put himself at the top of the leader board throughout the day, ultimately finishing three shots back in the end despite a solid performance.

John Shoemaker (89) finished third, rounding out the top three for the "D" flight at Elks Run Golf Club.

Thank you to all players who came out and contributed to an awesome day at a great course, continuing the chase to Hilton Head!
