Aberdeen GC Tournament Recap

The St. Louis Tour continued its 2019 campaign and rolled through Aberdeen GC, fitting as the pros teed it up at Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open while the Golfweek membership had it's midyear major. It was another great turnout for the growing tour! The St.Louis Cup, Wilson Scoring Challenge are both heating up along with qualifications for the Midwest AM Cup and the Tour Championship.

Champ Flight

It was a tight race in the Champ Flight until the final putt fell and when it did, Bryan Stogsdill earned a 1 shot victory as he carded 41-37-78. Stogsdill's day was highlighted by birdies at 12, 14, & 17. JD Sabio was the runner up while Lenny Urbas finished in third place. Sabio remains the player to catch in both the St. Louis Cup and Wilson Scoring Challenge after 7 events.

A Flight

Dan Kohnle made it back to back victories this past weekend at Abderdeen. Fresh off his win in Peoria, Kohnle started a little slow but got it rolling on the back nine with 2 eagles (#14 & #17) en route to shooting 77 and winning by 2. Chad Jones finished in 2nd place shooting 79 while Timmy Hill shot 80 and finished in 3rd. Kohnle's eagles and victory has catapulted him to the top of the leaderboard in both the St. Louis Cup and Wilson Scoring Challenge

B Flight

It was a nail biter in the B Flight, but Tim Faulkner was as calm as can be with 3 straight pars to close out his round and take home the major hardware by 1 shot. Newly promoted Harry Oms took home second place shooting 78 while Kenton McWilliams shot 80 to take third. Faulkner's victory puts him in the lead spot in the St. Louis Cup by 5 points! David Watson claims the top spot in the Wilson Scoring Challenge. It's setting up to be a great last few events with some close competition!

C Flight

In the C Flight Jason Quillman was the most consistent golfer of the day shooting 41-39-80 to cruise to a 5 shot victory. Quillman's day was highlighted by birides at #6 and #14. Jeff Schmidt finished in second place with an 85 while Christopher Johnson finished third shooting 86. Brad Reynolds is the player to catch in the St. Louis Cup and Wilson Scoring Challenge with 5 events to go!

D Flight

The day belonged to Linda Bozada, as she carded a personal season low 89 to win for the 2nd time this season. Bozada won by 3 shots over Kenny Jackson and "Suds" Injamuri. Bozada has claimed the top spot in the St. Louis Cup while Kenny Jackson holds the top spot in the Wilson Challenge.
