As a Golfweek Amateur Tour Member, you will receive membership into a -USGA compliant club through USHandicap.com and issued an official USGA index.

Within 60 days of joining the tour and filling out the 2018 registration, each member will receive an email from USHandicap with instructions on how to sign into your account. You will not be able to access your Silver membership until you receive the confirmation email. Nothing will be mailed, everything will be done via email address.

An Ace in Vegas!

Good luck was flowing in Vegas for the forty-five players who competed in this weekend's events at the Tuscany Golf Course.  The weather was spectacular for the entire weekend and participant Steve Jones knocked in a hole-in-one on the third hole of the tournament!  The weekend started with a casual practice round and optional skins game on Saturday and finished with the tournament on Sunday.  The tournament field, that included 5 pairs of fathers and sons, was made up of 22 members and 4 guests from the Salt Lake City tour, 15 members from the Phoenix tour, 2 members from the Denver tour, and 2 guests from the soon-to-be-created Las Vegas tour.  Thirteen players took home prizes comprised of 1st place trophies, $850 in Visa gift cards, GWAT logo'd golf wear, and $390 in the cash pool for the skins game.  Good times were had hanging out in the club house after both rounds catching up with old friends from last season and making new friends from the other tours and the new members.

Tournament Details:

  • In the Championship Flight:   Phoenix member Jason Vega grabbed the victory by one stroke with a 76, two birdies, an eagle on number 2, and two skins.  Dan Klein (PHX member) was a close second at 77 with four birdies.  Salt Lake City members Jeremy Lieber and Joe Jack tied for third at 79 with six birdies between them.  Five by Lieber and one byJack.
  • In the A Flight:  New Salt Lake City member David Platt took first place with an 80 and one birdie, beating the field by four strokes.   Kevin Engle, another new member on the SLC tour, won the second place prize in a scorecard play-off at 84.  SLC tour director John Bryer was third at 84 with three birdies.
  • In the B Flight:  Steve Jones (SLC member) created the buzz of the tournament by acing the third hole and winning the skin and the closest to the pin game for his hole-in-one on the 145 yard par 3!  Phoenix member Jason Scillieri won first place in his first tour event with an impressive 77, three birdies, a skin, and a closest to the pin win on the 13th hole.  Salt Lake City member Scott Lieber grabbed 2nd place with a 79 and two skins for his birdies on holes 7 and 10. Rod Engle, a guest of the SLC tour, won the 3rd place prize with three birdies at 81.
  • In the C Flight:  Salt Lake City member Jason Tanner, the only one in the C flight to break 80, won first place with a 78 and one birdie.  Thomas Wenker, Sr. (PHX member) earned the 2nd place prize with an 82 and one birdie.  Phoenix member Earnest Woodruff finished third with one birdie at 92.
  • In the D Flight:  Phoenix member Manny Navaro grabbed first place by one stroke with an 86.  Phoenix members Hector Lara and Thomas Wenker, Jr. finished tied at 87. Hector Lara won second place through a scorecard play-off with three birdies.  Thomas Wenker, Jr. took the third place prize.
  • Closest to the Pin Winners:  Steve Jones (Hole-in-One!!),Marq Bresnan (two holes), Jason Scillieri
  • Skins Winners:  Steve Jones (Ace!), Jason Vega (two skins: one birdie & one eagle), Scott Lieber (two skins), Jason ScillieriMarq Bresnan
