Tom Murphy used two birdies and 10 pars en route to the top spot in the Championship Flight (77). Greg Newberry carded an 80 for second. He made three birdies and five pars on the round.
Eric Neidermeyer and Corey Ferger played stellar rounds Saturday, leading to a playoff. Neidermeyer, of Louisiana North, made five birdies through the 18 holes. Ferger had four birdies, the most important being on the final hole which matched Neidermeyer’s score of 75 – a 3-over-par performance for both men. Though, Neidermeyer took the playoff, earning the win in the A Flight. Shanga White rounded out the top-3 with a 78.
It was a strong round for Eric Bryner in the B Flight. Bryner pared 11 of the 18 holes, which was good enough for the top spot (81). Steve Wood edged out Cade Slaughter, who made one birdie, by one stroke, 83-84, for second.
Steve Gwinn went onto win the C Flight playoff against Jimmy Sullivan, of the Upstate SC tour, after knotting up the score, 93-93, with a birdie on the 18th. Mitchell Meaders took third (94) while Art Parcher and Buddy Walden finished in a two-way tie for fourth (96).
Christopher Webb was victorious in the D Flight with an 85. He made two birdies on the round. Jerrod Glass placed second (89) while Steve Burruss took third with a card of 91.
