2022 Rules Sheet - Meadow Valleys



This competition shall be governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. The following Local Rules & Definitions shall also be in effect. 


CHECK IN: All Players MUST personally check-in at least 45 minutes prior to the shotgun start & be at their assigned cart no less than 30 minutes prior to the shotgun start. Failure to do so may result in a player forfeiting his/her spot. If a player is not at the starting point, ready to play, at the assigned starting time, he/she is in breach of Rule 6-3 & may be issued a two stroke penalty.


PACE OF PLAY: 4:30 – Players can not card more than triple bogey on any hole (this does not apply to the Championship Flight). After that the player must pick up for the hole. Rangers will act as Tour officials & will warn slow groups & then report to the director. The back of the rules sheet outlines pace of play tips. You have 40 seconds to hit your shot once it is your turn.


CONDUCT UNBECOMING: The use of loud, foul or abusive language toward any member, Tour or course official will not be tolerated. A member is subject to revocation of playing privileges & membership for the continued use of such language. Any member throwing a club in anger or frustration will be disqualified immediately. Two such disqualifications in any season is grounds for being denied entry into any Tour competitions for the balance of that season. A Tour official need not witness the club throwing to disqualify a member.

PRACTICE BETWEEN HOLES PROHIBITED: Note 2 to Rule-7 & Optional Condition in Appendix I shall be in effect. Penalty-2 Strokes.

OUT OF BOUNDS: Defined by boundary stakes & white lines. Do not enter private property to retrieve or play a ball, it is out of bounds. All public roads covered tunnels & parking lots are out of bounds. A ball, which crosses a paved public/ private road defined as out of bounds & comes to rest beyond that road, is out of bounds, even though it may lie on another part of the course. Rule 27-1


OBSTRUCTIONS: Relief without penalty shall be given for the following immovable obstructions: (1) All Maintenance roads, walking paths & concrete car paths, (2) restroom facilities, (3) rock wall. Prepared “bed rock areas” bordering cart paths are considered part of the path. Rule 24-2


PENALTY AREAS: Areas marked with a white or green environmental sign are restricted areas (play environmental areas as a penalty area). Do not enter protected areas to retrieve or play your ball, there is a 2 stroke penalty for playing from these areas. Anything not marked will be considered lateral.


GROUND UNDER REPAIR: Defined by white lines. Fire ant hills & french drains are deemed to be ground under repair. All areas around cart paths that are bare are played as ground under repair. Any debris piled by maintenance that is intended to be removed is deemed ground under repair. All flower beds & newly planted trees are considered to be Ground Under Repair. The player MUST take relief from these areas to the nearest spot & then drop no closer to the hole.


CELL PHONE/PAGER: All cell phones & pagers must be off/silent/or vibrate. If a player’s cell phone is heard ringing that player will be assessed a 2-stroke penalty for each occurrence.


RULES DISCREPANCY: If there is a discrepancy in the interpretation of a rule, the member is to play 2 balls through the hole, & get a ruling at the end of the round from the Tour Director.


TEES: Champ (Blue), A/B (Green), C/D (White), Champ/A/B Females (White holes 5, 10, 13, & 17; All other holes Red), C/D Females (Red)
