The Beat the Heat delivered another great two-day event for the EP/LC Tour! We would see
THREE FIRST TIME CHAMPIONS
come out of this event which is a new record for our tour. That show this is one event to play every year.
Held on August 22–23, players took on two outstanding courses in the Ruidoso/Alto area — The Links at Sierra Blanca for Round 1 and Rainmakers Resort & Club for Round 2. With great weather, beautiful mountain scenery, and two very different course layouts, it made for an awesome, but challenging weekend of golf. Both courses were in great shape and provided a battled for another Major-style weekend title.
Congratulations to all of our flight champions and thank you to everyone who made the trip for another memorable out-of-town event. A huge thank you to The Links at Sierra Blanca and Rainmakers Resort & Club for hosting us — this continues to be one of the most enjoyable stops on the schedule!

Tournament Results

Champ Flight
This event would not only give our Champ Members an easy course to score on, but also a challenging course to test their skills. After Day 1, we would see a leader with a seven stroke leading heading into the tougher course on Sunday. But with this flight anything could happen (especially with a NINE that we saw on a scorecard). On Day 2 we would see a battle throughout the day, but with the big lead that our leader had from Day 1, it would be enough to hold on from teh surge of the other Members. Isaiah Silva emerged victorious with a +6 (150 Total), marking this his 2nd TOUR WIN OF THE SEASON & 3rd OVERALL!!!

A Flight
This flight was loaded, and anyone of them could come out on top. After Day 1 our leader would have only a two stroke lead on a tough field right behind him. On Day 2 we would see a couple of golfers come out with a stong round, but it wasnt enough to take down our leader for the Major Victory. Jerry Corliss would take this victory with a +12 (165 Total) and making this his 1st VICTORY ON TOUR!!! Drake Wehrs would make a run for it but end up taking second place with a +15 (159 Total)

B Flight
Would we see a pattern developing in this flight. The first two Majors would see one Member take a commanding lead on Day 1 and then cruise to victory on Day 2. For this Major we would see our leader with a three stroke lead, but that leader would also go EVAN PAR for Day 1. On Day 2 we would see Members creep up the leaderboard and try to catch him, but in the end he was to much for the field to beat that weekend. Roy Littleton would take the victory in style with a +9 (153 Total), securing his 2nd TOUR WIN THIS SEASON & 6th OVERALL!!!. Michael Wood Jr. would take second with a +17 (161 Total), and Jordan Morrow would take third with a +20 (164 Total).

C Flight
This flight would have another roller coaster of a leaderboard throughout the weekend like the last two Majors. After Day 1, we would have a leader with a two stroke lead, but more than half the field was right behind him. On Day 2 though the phrase anything could happen really took place. As the leaderboard changed after every hole, it would take the last four holes to determine a Champion. Alberto Pedraza would take the victory with a +29 (173 Total), marking his 1st VICTORY ON TOUR!!! Cody Matthews would take second place with a +33 (177 Total), and Ruben Tavera would take third with a +34 (178 Total).

D Flight
Our final group would have a strong start from a handful of players, but anything can happen as we have seen in the past! After Day 1, we would see some different faces with a tie in the clubhouse for the lead, with all of the field right behind them. On Day 2, It would take a consistent round with minimual mistakes to cruise to the victory. AJ Salaiz would take the victory with a +34 (178 Total), marking this his 1st VICTORY ON TOUR!!! Michael Wood Sr. would take second with a +40 (184).
