Anthony Recap

We don’t call it the Borderline Battle for nothing!

We couldn't have asked for a better setup for our first visit to Anthony CC. The course was in top-tier shape, making for a perfect morning of golf for the 54 players in the hunt. However, it wouldn’t be a New Mexico tournament without the wind creeping in to shake up the leaderboard!

What started as a pristine day quickly turned into a "hold onto your hats" kind of afternoon. Shoutout to everyone who braved the gusts and toughed it out to the 18th green

Huge thanks to the grounds crew for having the course tournament-ready!

Tournament Results

Champ   Flight

This flight started the event with some tough competition, but one player would go on a three birdie streak in the front nine to take a huge lead. As the weather turned we would see that gap get smaller and smaller to which it would come down to the final hole. With a birdie on 18 we would see RJ Belk be victorious with a +4 (74), marking this his SECOND TOUR WIN & SECOND OF THE SEASON!

A   Flight

We would see a tight race all day, and anything could happen after the turn. Coming down the final stretch it would take some solid golf to claim the victory and keep the field off their heels. Kenny Crowe would return to the the winner circle and take the victory with a +5 (75) and making this his 12th TOUR WIN OVERALL!

B   Flight

With the second biggest field of the event, anything could happen especially with the winds picking up. At the turn we would see nine players at the top with only a few strokes seperating them all. At one point we would see a tie for first between a handful of players. After all is said we would need a on course playoff on hole #1. After the one hole we would see 2025 NATIONAL CHAMPION Ricardo Almeida claim the victory with a +7 (77), securing his 9th TOUR WIN OVERALL. Mario Villa would take the second place from the playoff, and Ken Copeland would round it off in third with a +8 (78)

C   Flight

Anything could happen in this flight and with the winds picking up bad we had a was must watch till the very end. At one point after the turn we had half the field within 3 strokes of the leader. But a consistent front and back nine of 40 would be what would not only hold off another playoff, but take the victory outright. Martin Gonzales would return to the winners circle with a +10 (80), marking his 6th VICTORY ON TOUR EVER!!! Jon Calderon would take another second place with a +11 (81). Orlando Almeida take third with a +14 (84).

D   Flight

Our final group would have a battle to the very end. At the turn we would see a tight race for majority of the flight with the heavy hitters at the top like they have been all season. But with a strong finish in the last three holes, we would see NEW MEMBER BreAnna Nichols would hold off Manny & German to claim the victory with a +20 (90), marking this her 1st VICTORY ON TOUR! Manny Munoz would take second with a +24 (94).

Congratulations to all winners at the
