The Open at Tanglewood Golf Course commenced under promising circumstances, with players from 3 Local Tours demonstrated precision and enthusiasm in each Flight, despite the sweltering and humid conditions. Over the course of two intense rounds, the event showcased remarkable consistency, resilience, and several closely contested battles.

In the Championship Flight, Adam Trainor commenced with a solid performance, scoring a steady 77 (+5). He demonstrated notable control on the front nine and secured critical pars on the back nine. Our newest member of the Champ Flight, Noah Harlan, faced challenges on the front nine with a score of 44 but exhibited commendable resilience on the back nine, ultimately finishing with a respectable total of 85 (+13). Following the first round, Trainor maintained his consistency by matching his Day One score with another 77, culminating in an overall score of 154 (+10) and earning his first victory of the season.

The A Flight presented a closely contested battle, with Chris Santoya starting Day Two in the lead and Scott Rutherford and Ryan Marchbanks (St. Louis, MO) tied just one stroke behind. Marchbanks commenced Day Two with a birdie on the first hole; however, Santoya delivered an impressive performance on the front nine, scoring a 35 that included two birdies, thereby maintaining his lead. Rutherford applied pressure to his competitors with a solid 38 on the back nine, which also featured two birdies. Ultimately, Santoya's consistent play secured him the victory with a Two-Day total of 158 (+14), while Rutherford finished eight strokes behind. Marchbanks, despite experiencing fluctuations in his performance, demonstrated resilience and concluded the tournament in third place with a score of 169 (+25).

In the B Flight, Matt Jensen (Arizona) demonstrated exceptional performance, posting a consistent front nine score of 41, bolstered by a brilliant birdie on hole eight and a series of pars. Despite facing challenges on the back nine, Jensen maintained his lead heading into Day Two. He was closely pursued by Kyle Meadows (St. Louis, MO) and Kelly Bordewick, both trailing by just three strokes, with Alan Parker four strokes behind the leader.

On Day Two, Jensen continued his impressive play, ultimately securing the victory with cumulative scores of 83-84-167 (+23). Parker claimed second place with a score of 172 (+28). Notably, Cliff Austin delivered an outstanding round, highlighted by an eight-hole par streak and a birdie on the crucial money hole, achieving the lowest score of the day with a remarkable 75.

The competitive C Flight featured 15 golfers, each vying for supremacy on the course. On Day One, Scott Miller recorded a score of 39 on the front nine. Despite a slightly less consistent performance on the back nine, he secured a podium finish, finishing just one stroke behind Kathy Haeffner. Haeffner delivered an impressive back nine score of 37, closely followed by Tim Greenwood, who was also just one stroke behind and took the lead.

As Day Two commenced, the competition intensified, with players neck and neck. Miller kicked off the day with a birdie on the money hole 14. However, as the excitement unfolded, Greenwood emerged victorious, carding a total of 80-86-166 (+22) and achieving back-to-back wins. Haeffner's par on the final hole ensured her second place with scores of 79-88-167 (+23). Miller rounded out the standings, finishing third with a score of 80-88-168 (+24). Notably, three players—Dillon Meals, Robert Rosenbaum, and Ross Rosenbaum (St. Louis, MO)—were all just one stroke shy of the prize line, concluding the tournament with a two-day total score of 175 (+31).

The D Flight showcased an exciting blend of drama, comebacks, and closely contested scorecards over two exhilarating days of competition.
