The stage was set for another exciting day of championship golf as players took to The Posse Course at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex for an afternoon of competition. While sunny skies welcomed the field, the persistent Kansas wind quickly became one of the day's biggest challenges, forcing players to carefully manage every shot and making club selection critical throughout the round. Those who adapted to the demanding conditions found themselves climbing the leaderboard, while even small mistakes were magnified by the gusts. Before recapping the action, we'd like to extend our sincere appreciation to the entire Paradise Pointe Golf Complex staff for their outstanding hospitality, professionalism, and dedication throughout the event. Their hard work behind the scenes ensured another first-class tournament experience, and we're grateful for everything they do to keep our events running smoothly. The Champ Flight produced a tale of resilience as JR Munson battled back from an early setback to capture the title. Matthew Thorman built an early advantage with steady play through the opening nine. The momentum shifted after the turn as Munson settled into a string of composed pars. Erik Pottorf stayed within striking distance for much of the afternoon but was unable to capitalize during the closing holes. Munson's steady inward nine completed an impressive comeback, turning an early deficit into a convincing victory and earning the Champ Flight title with a 78.
A Flight featured one of the day's most consistent winning performances. Adam Trainor quietly positioned himself near the top with a solid opening nine before separating himself through the middle of the back side as several challengers struggled to maintain momentum. Brandon Gilpin remained within striking distance throughout the afternoon, but two of the final five holes prevented him from making one last charge. Joel Brooks recovered from a difficult front nine with one of the strongest closing stretches in the Flight, climbing into contention but running out of holes. Trainor's ability to avoid major mistakes over the closing holes proved to be the difference as he claimed the A Flight title with an impressive 81.
B Flight delivered one of the deepest and most competitive races of the tournament, with multiple players exchanging momentum throughout the day. Troy Bailey established himself early with a clean opening nine and never allowed the field to gain much ground despite constant pressure from Jacob Wedekind and Eric Brown. Every time the chasing pack threatened, Bailey answered with timely pars to protect his advantage. Wedekind and Brown both finished strongly to share second place, but Bailey's consistency from start to finish earned him a two-shot victory and the B Flight title with a winning score of 79, making this his 5th Tour win of the season!
C Flight remained tightly contested through much of the afternoon before Jesse Barton gradually separated himself over the closing stretch. After making the turn with a narrow advantage, Barton avoided the costly mistakes that plagued many of the contenders while Jeff Rader, Kathy Haeffner, and a crowded group behind him struggled to string together momentum. Timmy Fuerst, Scott Miller, and Clint Carter all mounted late pushes but were unable to erase the deficit. Barton's composed back nine and steady finish proved to be the winning formula as he secured the C Flight title with an outstanding 86.
D Flight showcased another impressive display of consistency as Ray Krueger recovered quickly after the front-nine setback, playing composed golf over the final holes while the leaderboard behind him continued to shuffle. Julie Krueger remained his closest challenger throughout the afternoon, and both Brad Haeffner and Cliff Austin Jr. stayed within reach entering the back nine. Ray Krueger never surrendered his advantage down the stretch, closing with confidence to earn the D Flight title with a winning score of 87.
From dramatic comebacks to wire-to-wire consistency, Paradise Pointe's Posse Course once again delivered a memorable day of tournament golf. Every Flight featured its own battle until the final holes, and each champion earned their victory by rising to the occasion when it mattered most.
