Tunica, MS - Memphis Golfweek Tour wishes all the fathers out there a Happy Fathers Day!
Wind gusts up to 27 mph made for overall high scores at the Links @ Cottonwoods tournament. An otherwise beautiful day for golf was made very difficult with high wind and "native" grass areas on both sides of most fairways. The "native" grass areas were considered hazards and you were not to go into these areas.............tough golfing!
Champ flight was won by our guest from Arkansas, Chris Schlette with an 84. Great score under the conditions. Second went to new member Jay Bowers with 88, and third was Phillip Roberts with 90.
Mr. Mark Heath notched his first win on tour by beating tour vet Troy Weeks by one stroke with an 85 in the A' flight. Troy finished 2nd and Stan Platt took third.
B flight was won by guest Allen Standifer with a very impressive 83! John Pigg, Greg Cryder, and Danny McDougal all shot 89's with John winning second and Greg taking 3rd on the scorecard playoff.
C flight points leader Shane Springer beat out Berje Yacoubian on a scorecard playoff to win first place. Shane and Berje shot 86's. Third place went to Burt Wilkerson with a score of 90.
Don Humphries shoots 87 to win the D' flight title. Second place went to Mike Schafer with 88, and third went to George Houser with a 94.
