The second tournament for the Memphis/N. MS Egolf tour was held this past Saturday at Kirkwood National in Holly Springs, MS. Wind played a big role in the scoring, as well as the courses challenging layout as well as the course playing longer with the wet conditions. Play was lift, clean, place, and cart path only with wind gusts up to 27 mph on Saturday!! I would like to thank the 35 players that competed at Kirkwood.
One of our new members, Mr. Phillip Roberts, won the championship flight with a score of 83, beating out Brian Walker and John Pigg. Congrats to Mr. Roberts on winning his first tournament in his first try with a very good score.
Jack Willis won his second tournament in a row, as he won the ‘B’ flight with a score of 83! Second place with an 84, went to Thomas McMurdy, and one of our guests, Mr. Bill Roberts won 3rd place with an 85. These are all very good scores for this tournament, and congrats to all of you.
Fred Bryant won the ‘C’ flight with a 93, Nick Warren second at 94, with Greg Cryder coming in 3rd at 97. Congrats to Fred on winning, and to Nick on his second place finish in his first tournament.
For the ‘D’ flight, Gary Tedford won with a score of 91, Mr. Max Dove was 2nd with a 93, and 3rd went to Mr. Frank Culver with 96. Good job Gary and Max! And great job Mr. Culver!!

I know it was a tough and long round of golf, but I think the tournament went very well, and I thank all of you for participating. Let’s hope for some better weather in the upcoming tournaments. Let’s keep spreading the word and keep bringing guests guys. Anyone may still join, and the next tournament at the Natchez Trace is a MAJOR, worth double points! Remember everyone; sign up as early as you can for the tournaments. You can do it online, call me, text me, or email me.
I would really like to thank the staff at Kirkwood for being very patient and helpful in getting our tournament off without a hitch. And a special thanks to my wife Lisa, Gary Tedford, Skiddy Pickens, and my stepson Wesley Loague for all their help. I wouldn't be able to function without them. The tour would like to thank Mr. Bill Collins at Pro Golf in Tupelo, MS for sponsoring our longest drive contest at Kirkwood. I encourage all of our members and guests to visit Bill for all your golfing needs. Please visit all of our sponsors, as they are a big part of our tours success now, as well as in the future.
Practice up, and I hope to see you all at The Natchez Trace!!
