Minnesota Season Enters the Stretch Run

The 2026 Golfweek Amateur Tour Minneapolis/St. Paul points races are beginning to take shape, but with valuable points still available, none of the five flight championships can be considered settled.

Some leaders have created significant separation through steady attendance and repeated high finishes. Others are locked in close battles where one victory could completely change the standings.

From Matthew Foehse’s advantage in the Championship Flight to the tight two-player duel between Larry “O.G.” Caldwell and Felix Scott in A Flight, the closing stretch of the season is positioned to deliver plenty of drama.

Championship Flight — The Final Round

Foehse Turns a Strong Start into a Dominant Season

Points leader: Matthew Foehse — 5,370 points

What began as a strong start to the 2026 season has turned into a commanding Championship Flight campaign for Matthew Foehse.

When we last checked the points race, Foehse led the Championship Flight with 2,670 points through nine tournaments. Heading into today's season finale at Baker National, he has more than doubled that total.

Through 15 tournaments, Foehse has accumulated 5,370 points, opening an enormous 3,820-point advantage over second-place Dom Rosati.

But just as it was earlier in the season, the story isn't simply participation.

Foehse's 39 birdies and two eagles are both evidence of the scoring power behind his points total. He has also increased his season earnings to $300 while maintaining a 0.8 handicap.

The consistency that established Foehse as the early favorite never disappeared. Instead, he continued adding tournament starts, birdies and points while his closest challengers were unable to match his combination of production and participation.

Entering the final event at Baker National, Foehse isn't simply leading the Championship Flight.

He has separated himself from the field.

The Chasers

Dom Rosati remains second with 1,550 points through six tournaments.

Rosati has recorded nine birdies while maintaining a 3.1 handicap, but the limited schedule that made him an intriguing challenger earlier in the year ultimately prevented him from keeping pace with Foehse.

Kurt Lambert remains third with 1,175 points through only three tournaments.

Lambert's position remains statistically impressive. He has recorded eight birdies and an eagle in just three appearances while earning $120. His current handicap of -0.7 is the lowest among the Championship Flight's top three.

The battle between Rosati and Lambert is much closer than the race for first.

Only 375 points separate second and third entering today's finale.

By the Numbers

Foehse has scored an average of 358 points per tournament across 15 starts.

Lambert continues to lead the top three in points production per appearance at approximately 391.7 points per tournament, but Foehse's ability to combine a high production rate with five times as many tournament appearances has made the difference.

Foehse has also produced 31 more birdies than Lambert and 30 more than Rosati.

His 5,370-point total is now more than the combined totals of Rosati, Lambert and fourth-place Dom Haskins.

Player to Watch: Matthew Foehse

Earlier in the season, Kurt Lambert was the player to watch because of his extraordinary production in limited starts.

Heading into Baker National, the focus belongs squarely on Foehse.

The question is no longer whether someone can chase him down.

The question is how Matthew Foehse will put the finishing touches on one of the strongest Championship Flight seasons of 2026.

He arrives at Baker National with 5,370 points, 39 birdies, two eagles and 15 tournament appearances.

One final tournament remains.

And Foehse has an opportunity to finish the season exactly where he has spent most of it:

At the top of the Championship Flight leaderboard.

Caldwell vs. Scott — One Final Battle

Caldwell Takes a 430-Point Lead into Baker National

Points leader: Larry Caldwell — 4,820 points

If the Championship Flight has been defined by separation, A Flight has become the exact opposite.

Larry Caldwell enters today's season finale at Baker National with 4,820 points, but Felix Scott is right behind him with 4,390.

The difference is only 430 points.

Caldwell has accumulated his total through 16 tournaments, recording 21 birdies and $500 in earnings while carrying a 6.0 handicap.

Scott has actually played one more event and leads Caldwell in birdies, producing 23 birdies through 17 tournaments with $360 in earnings.

After spending virtually the entire season near the top of A Flight, the two players now arrive at Baker National separated by a margin small enough to make the final event especially important.

The Chasers

Joshua VanCampen sits third with 1,905 points, followed by Richard Lesslie at 1,225 and Nick Griffith at 1,065.

The championship story, however, centers on Caldwell and Scott.

Caldwell leads by 430 points, while Scott enters the finale with two more birdies and one additional tournament appearance.

Player to Watch: Felix Scott

Scott is the obvious player to watch.

He has been one of A Flight's most productive players throughout 2026 and enters Baker National just 430 points behind Caldwell.

There is no longer another tournament waiting on the schedule.

If Scott is going to make one final charge at Caldwell, Baker National is the place it has to happen.

B FLIGHT

Zahn Leads the Deepest Race on Tour

Zahn Carries the Lead into the Finale

Points leader: Geoffrey Zahn — 4,147 points

Geoffrey Zahn enters Baker National atop an incredibly deep B Flight leaderboard with 4,147 points through 22 tournament appearances.

Zahn has produced 15 birdies, two eagles and $680 in earnings, but unlike Championship and C Flight, there is considerably more traffic behind the leader.

Tanner Lydon sits second with 3,370 points, while Brent Svac is third at 3,245.

Austin Ludeman is fourth with 3,012.5 and Matt Meyers remains fifth at 2,900.

Lydon trails Zahn by 777 points.

Svac trails by 902, but is only 125 points behind Lydon for second.

Ludeman and Meyers add another layer to the final leaderboard battle, with just 112.5 points separating fourth and fifth.

Lydon enters the finale in second place and has recorded 20 birdies, the most among B Flight's top five.

Zahn controls the race entering Baker National, but Lydon is the closest player on the leaderboard and therefore the name to watch as the final points are awarded.

Ellenson's Season-Long Consistency Creates Separation

Ellenson Takes Command

Points leader: Steve Ellenson — 4,776 points

Steve Ellenson enters Baker National with 4,776 points through 14 tournaments, giving him one of the largest leads anywhere on the Minneapolis/St. Paul Tour.

Ellenson has recorded 11 birdies and $900 in earnings, and his consistency has created a massive 2,517.67-point advantage over Xavier Riggle.

Riggle sits second at 2,258.33 points, while Victor Lucio occupies third with 1,930.

While Ellenson has created enormous separation at the top, the race immediately behind him remains interesting.

Riggle holds second with 2,258.33 points, but Lucio is only 328.33 points behind.

Ellenson has created the headline at the top, but Lucio could create movement immediately behind him.

Only 328.33 points separate Lucio from second-place Riggle, while Chester remains less than 200 points behind Lucio.

That makes the battle for the positions behind Ellenson one of C Flight's biggest stories at Baker National.

D FLIGHT

Dreelin Takes the Lead into the Final Event

Dreelin's 22-Event Season Has Him on Top

Points leader: Dennis Dreelin — 4,664 points

Dennis Dreelin enters Baker National with 4,664 points, built across an incredible 22 tournament appearances.

Dreelin has recorded seven birdies and $235 in earnings while establishing a 774-point advantage over Spencer White.

White sits second with 3,890 points, while Ted Chapman is third at 3,525.

Spencer White remains Dreelin's closest challenger with 3,890 points through 13 tournaments.

White is the closest challenger to Dreelin entering the final event.

His 3,890 points in only 13 tournaments represent impressive production, and Baker National gives him one final opportunity to add to that total.

Chapman also cannot be overlooked. With only 365 points separating second and third, the final round could have implications throughout the D Flight podium.
