A real gem, the Willie Park-designed course is a true classic parkland-style.
Designed by the famous Scottish architect, Willie Park, Jr. in 1919, the course remains relatively undisturbed over the last century. Over the past decade, with the help of consulting architect, Bruce Hepner, the club has undergone a restoration process to re-establish the original dimensions and re-create the shot values intended by Park's original design. Extensive tree work has also been done to re-create the original parkland feel. The Battle Creek Country Club remains one of the best preserved examples of Willie Park's contribution to golf course architecture.
Over the years, the club has hosted numerous professional and amateur events, including recently the 1999 Michigan Amateur, 2007 USGA Amateur Qualifier, 2010 US Open Qualifier, and is the current home for the LPGA Symetra Tour's FireKeepers Casino Hotel Championship.
Doug Kreis, Class A PGA Professional, is only the fifth club professional in our long club history and offers a full-service golf shop with custom-fitting services. Past professionals include Ryder Cup team member, Chick Harbert, and local golfing legend, Ron LaParl.
The club offers a wide variety of golfing experiences: The Tradition, our annual Member/Guest event, the Club Championships, numerous mixed events, a Tuesday evening ladies night, and the best junior programming in the area.
With our limited membership, the golf course is very available and tee times are seldom required. Historically, our pace of play is under four hours
