Elliott Johnson, Mark Ducker, Tim Sumption, Terry Lawson, and Kent Barker all won the St. Patrick's Day Regional hosted by True Blue Golf Club!

Day 1 One Hundred & Six players arrived at TRUE BLUE GC in Pawleys Island, SC. After concerning weather conditions cleared the players were in for treat on a course with great drainage. As the conditions improved so did the scoring.

In the Champ Flight, Elliott Johnson (Hilton Held-Savanah Tour) held a 1 shot lead (70) over Mike Cobb (Charleston Tour) who fired an even (72) round. Wes Strader (Eastern NC) strung together a few final birdies to finish the day in the Top 3 with a (73). Going into Day #2, Johnson’s Day 2 score of 71 giving him an impressive (-3) 141 for a two-day total winning the top spot! Cobb (147) maintained the second position with Strader finished out in the 3rd position (148).

In the A Flight, Day 1 leaders Sean Kenneck (Charleston Tour) and Ken Gray (Eastern NC) shared the overnight lead with a pair of (75’s), followed by Mathew Graley (Eastern NC) 76 and Mark Ducker (Charleston Tour) 77. As Day 2 round started the group immediately fell into a rhythm and the players battled it out, in the end Ducker’s consistent play gave him the victory with two-day total (152), followed by Kenneck (153), David Stringer (Charlotte) at 155 and Daren Green (Tampa Fl Tour) finished out the flight in 4th place.

In the B Flight, Day 1 saw an impressive round by Joshua Moore (Charleston Tour) shooting a (73). Tim Sumption (Director for Charleston) had his work cut out for himself with an (81), he would need an impressive day two round to eliminate the eight-shot deficit between himself and Moore. Randy Moore (Michigan West Tour), Shane Elliot (Atlanta Tour) and Brien Cozart (Eastern NC) kept it close with (83s). As Day 2 began it looked more than over as Moore played a steady few starting hole, but as the round continued Sumption started to gain ground. With the last putt falling on hole 18, Sumption managed to pull out the victory by erasing the eight-shot deficit shooting a two-day total (159), Moore held on to the 2nd place spot with a (161), Bryan Baquer (Eastern NC) took the 3rd spot (163), Daniel Montgomery (Columbia Tour) finished in the 4th spot (165) and Jae Lee (North Central Fl Tour) finished in the 5th position (167).

In the C Flight, Overnight leaders Terry Lawson (South Florida Director) and Trent McCumbee (Eastern NC) closed day 1 with (83). Gilbert Kennedy (Richmond Tour) and Tony James (Augusta) kept within striking distance going into Day 2. Lawson’s steady round made it hard for players to overtake him, in the end Lawson’s wire to wire victory score (170) placed him above fast charging Frank Brammer (Charlotte Tour) and McCumbee both shooting (174) T2 positions. James finished in the fourth spot with (175) followed by Jimmy Mathis (Columbia Tour) 176.

In the D Flightt, a three-way tie for overnight leaders Kent Barker (Charleston Tour), Jonathan Phillips Eastern NC) and Johnny Hayes (Eastern NC) all shooting (87) followed by Junior Rivera (Eastern NC) keeping close with (88). With the D Flight leading the way on Day #2, the early morning start saw the players starting exactly where they finished. Battling throughout the day, it was going to be the player that made minimal mistakes that would pull away from the other competitors. In the end, Barker’s (178) total was enough to edge out Hayes and Phillips (179) total.
