Champ Flight Winner – AJ Porter

 

With heavy rain to start the round, the champ flight embarked upon their quest to test their mettle on this drenched Sunday at Woods Fort. AJ Porter, partaking in his second tournament of the year following his triumph at The Falls Golf Club's season opener, continued to exhibit his exceptional prowess. Setting the tone for the day, he commenced with a splendid birdie on the inaugural hole. Progressing through the front nine, Porter amassed four pars and an additional birdie, further solidifying his position. As he arrived at the halfway point, his score of 37 placed him on equal footing with last tournament’s victor and points leader in the champion flight, Bryce Faulkner.

Transitioning to the back nine, Porter maintained a steady performance, punctuated by two more birdies and six pars. Concluding his backside with a commendable score of 35, he attained an overall total of 72, surpassing the competition by an impressive six strokes. This achievement solidifies AJ's undefeated record in the two tournaments he has participated in this year. With great anticipation, we eagerly anticipate witnessing the forthcoming battles between these formidable contenders. A Flight Winner – Tom Estopare

 

In hot pursuit of his second win of the season, Mike Camilleri commenced the event with an admirable display, amassing four pars on the front nine without succumbing to a score worse than bogey. As he reached the halfway mark, Camilleri's score of 40 bestowed upon him a slender one-stroke lead, auguring well for his aspirations. Meanwhile, second-year participant Tom Estopare set his sights on securing his second career victory, embarking on a resolute pursuit of success.

Despite a somewhat turbulent start on the front nine, Estopare showcased an impressive resurgence on the backside, mounting a formidable challenge against Mike C. Five pars and an additional birdie adorned his back nine, culminating in a commendable score of 38 and an overall tally of 84. While Mike Camilleri's back nine exhibited some fluctuations, he managed to conclude his round with a score of 44, mirroring Estopare's cumulative total of 84.

B Flight Winner – Chris Poetz

 

In the B flight today, the spotlight was unequivocally focused on the captivating display of golf mastery by Chris Poetz. Commencing his round with a resounding and precisely executed drive that adeptly harnessed the contours of the course, Poetz set the tone for a truly remarkable performance. The opening hole was conquered with a composed par, followed by a sequence of three additional pars and two sublime birdies on the front nine. Poetz's putting prowess reached an extraordinary zenith, seemingly driven by an unwavering determination. Notably, he masterfully sank putts totaling an impressive distance of over 75 feet during the front half of the round.

C Flight Winner – Scott Nishimura

 

Scott embarked on his quest to secure his third consecutive tournament victory, having triumphed in back-to-back events at Tapawingo and the two-day major at Crystal Highlands. Launching into action with undeniable vigor, Scottie demonstrated his prowess by skillfully paring the first two holes, thereby setting an unwavering tone for his round. Continuing his steady performance, he added three more pars while skillfully avoiding any score worse than a double, culminating in a front nine score of 43, thus sharing the lead with Sean Bensinger.

Transitioning to the back nine, Scott exhibited a similar level of proficiency and determination. Beginning the latter half of the course with an impressive string of three consecutive pars, he deftly maneuvered himself into a one-stroke advantage as he approached the crucial final stretch. A pivotal moment arrived on the 16th hole, where Scott impressively sunk a crucial par putt, decisively propelling him further ahead. Colin Dooley embarked upon today's competition with a resolute determination to secure a coveted position within the winner's circle. Undeterred by the formidable challenges posed by both the adverse conditions and the demanding nature of the course, he showcased an extraordinary display of skill and perseverance. Colin's performance was nothing short of exemplary.

Navigating through the arduous course, Colin adeptly managed to accumulate a total of 5 bogeys, exemplifying his ability to maintain a steady pace under trying circumstances. Notably, his prowess was underscored by a pivotal par putt on the demanding 6th hole, which proved instrumental in his quest for victory. As he reached the halfway point, Colin found himself tied for the lead with the seasoned veteran, Greg Cobourn, boasting a commendable score of 48.

Undeterred by the challenges that lay ahead, Colin continued his exceptional form on the back nine, emerging as a frontrunner in the heated battle.
