The Tidewater Golfweek Amateur Tour took to Kingsmill Resort on the River Course in Williamsburg, VA for the Kickoff tournament of 2024. This Frostbite Challenge started off the 2024 Tour Season with a cool day and temps in the 40's. The tour kicked off another tour season with a 120 Player Tournament. Congrats to all the Flight winners and Day Money winners.
Below are the Day Monies from the tournament. Tournament results should be posted early next week, and any players wishing to move down a flight should notify the Tour Director at that time via email (Please review the Tour Manual for details).
In the Championship Flight, Mike Hartselle (76) won by two shots over Terrance Bordley (78). Hartselle played a top notch back nine (33), making birdies on three of his final five holes (14, 16, 17).
In the A Flight, Marcus Godinez (74) won by four shots over Tim Middleton (78) & Ron Sullins (78). Coming in fourth was Jose Gomez (80), and rounding out the tournament prizes was Thomas Dobrick (80).
In the B Flight, Tour Rookie, Lon Barnett (81) won by one shot over Donny Marshall (82). Both players played great rounds in tough conditions, and made some key putts during the round. Coming in third was Danny DeSimas (83), Eric Distler (83), Craig Crowley (83).
In the C Flight, Dale Chu (85) won in a Sudden Death Playoff with birdie on the second hole. Rounding out the tournament prizes was Cody Carver (85), Harry Taormina (85), Dre Beaufort (85). Coming in fifth was Paul Johnson (86).
In the D Flight, Mike Jones (90) won in a Sudden Death Playoff over Richard Thomas (90). Coming in third was Brian Casten (91). Rounding out the tournament prizes was Edward Sitko (91), and Brad Wilson (94).
