CHAMPIONSHIP FLIGHT RECAP
The Championship Flight at today’s Franklin Harrison Memorial Tournament at Albemarle Plantation belonged to Mike Hartselle, who put together an outstanding round of even-par 72 to claim a convincing five-stroke victory. Finishing in second place was Andrew Gregory, whose round of 77 earned him runner-up honors.
Just one shot behind, Michael Goulet and Matthew Spruill shared third place after both posted rounds of 78.

Hartselle’s steady play throughout the day proved to be the difference, as he separated himself from the field and added another impressive victory to his 2026 season. His even-par round on a challenging Albemarle Plantation layout was the only score at par or better and showcased why he continues to be one of the top players on the Tidewater Golfweek Amateur Tour.
A FLIGHT RECAP
The A Flight at today’s Franklin Harrison Memorial Tournament at Albemarle Plantation was claimed by Kevin Martin of the Tidewater Tour, who turned in an impressive round of 76 to secure a three-shot victory.
Finishing in second place was Jimmy Lewis with a solid 79, while Ron Sullins took third after posting an 81. Rounding out the top finishers was current A Flight points leader J.D. Somerset, who carded an 82 to finish fourth.

Martin’s consistent play throughout the round allowed him to pull away from the field and earn a convincing victory in one of the Tour’s most competitive flights. Lewis stayed within striking distance for much of the day, while Sullins and Somerset continued to add valuable points toward the season-long standings. B FLIGHT RECAP
The B Flight produced one of the day’s best stories as longtime Tour member Travis Lawson broke through for his first career victory on the Tidewater Golfweek Amateur Tour. Lawson fired an 83 to earn a two-shot victory over current contender Jeremy Huff, who finished runner-up with an 85.
The battle for third place ended in a three-way tie, with Steven Abernathy, Chris Barnett, and Kevin Bryars each carding rounds of 86.

After years of competing on Tour, Lawson finally found the winner’s circle, putting together a steady round at Albemarle Plantation and holding off a talented field to capture his first Tidewater Golfweek Amateur Tour title. Huff stayed within striking distance throughout the day, while Abernathy, Barnett, and Bryars shared third place after matching rounds of 86. C FLIGHT RECAP
The C Flight belonged to Shaun Jackson, who continued an impressive start to his Tidewater Golfweek Amateur Tour career by capturing his first Tour victory in convincing fashion. The Tour rookie fired an outstanding round of 82, earning a four-shot victory over one of the flight’s top competitors, Todd Lorenz, who finished second with an 86. Rounding out the podium was Danny Emerson, who carded an 88 to secure third place.

Jackson’s steady play throughout the day allowed him to separate himself from the field and claim his first Tidewater Golfweek Amateur Tour title. The rookie showed poise and consistency on the challenging Albemarle Plantation layout, turning in one of the best performances of the tournament.
Lorenz added another strong finish to his season with a runner-up performance, while Emerson’s solid round earned him a well-deserved third-place finish. D FLIGHT RECAP
The D Flight provided the most dramatic finish of the day at the Franklin Harrison Memorial, as it took three playoff holes to determine a champion. When regulation play concluded, Jeremiah Niesen and Jim O’Neill were deadlocked at 92, forcing a sudden-death playoff.
After three hard-fought extra holes, it was Jeremiah Niesen who emerged victorious to claim the D Flight title. Finishing in a tie for third place were Will Spittle and Willie Hughes, who both posted rounds of 96.

The playoff battle between Niesen and O’Neill showcased the competitive spirit of the Tour, with neither player willing to give an inch before Niesen finally secured the victory on the third extra hole. Both competitors displayed tremendous determination throughout the round and playoff.
