Congrats! Runner up Stephen Pippin posted a round of 76, while Aaron Bayles grabbed third place with a score of 77. David White from the Eastern NC Tour notched a fourth place finish with a score of 81, and Riley Gooch(yes his son) shot 83 to rack up the fifth place finish. Hey Chris! Riley will be a year older next season. WATCH OUT!!
Mike Martin got off to a good start and kept it going en route to the A flight four shot victory. His three over par 75 earned him his second win this season. Awesome golf Mike, and Congrats! The runner up spot was shared by matching scores carded by Juan Sanders and Dwayne Pope. Paul Hines entered a score of 81 to take fourth place, while Tour Director Chuck Smith closed out the top five scoring with his 82.
Eighteen holes of golf was not enough to determine a winner in the B flight as David Pitt and Frederick Levine matched scorecards with rounds of 80. The Tour manual rules require an on course playoff for first place, so David and Frederick took off for hole one to take care of business. David must have had an appointment because he slammed the door on Frederick with a birdie on the very first hole. Excellent golf David, and Congrats! Frederick was the obvious runner up, while P.K. Gumbs' round of 83 gave him a third place finish. Tim Wall of the Eastern NC Tour took fourth place with an 84, while Kenny Johnson completed the top five scores with his 89.
The C flight had a tie at the top of the scoreboard as well, as Melvin Jenkins and Casey Honeycutt both registered scores of 82 forcing a playoff to determine the winner Saturday. Melvin and Casey took off for hole one to finally bring this tournament to an end. After matching scores on one, the players moved on to hole number two. On the second green, Casey’s par putt slid by the hole, but Melvin’s putt dropped to the bottom of the cup to capture the win. Great golf Melvin, and Congrats! Casey was the obvious runner up due to the playoff. The third place score of 87 was turned in by Dan Parris, while David Brown shot a round of 96 for the fourth place finish.
In the D flight, Miles Barfield from the Eastern NC Tour, posted a round of 92 to capture a two shot victory. Well played Miles, and Congrats! The runner up slot was a T2 ending as Ken Hansley from the Eastern NC Tour and Charles Krick reported to the scoring table with matching scores of 94. Jim Dollar from the Eastern NC Tour snagged fourth place with a round of 97, while Benton Smith finished fifth with a 98.
