Longleaf
Longleaf Golf & Family Club is an 18-hole Dan Maples designed course that offers every Tour Flight member an excellent opportunity to score low.
Located in Southern Pines, Longleaf has been called the ‘most playable course in the Sandhills’ by Ron Witten of Golf Digest.
Third generation golf course architect Dan Maples, brings his talent back home to Southern Pines with Longleaf.
Built on the site of one of the Village of Pinehurst’s former horse training estates, Longleaf shines with Dan’s love of tradition. Many of the original features — the white fences, rail post and hedgerows — have been carefully retained as a tribute to the original site.
Come play this great member's course.

GREAT WEATHER, COURSE CONDITIONS FOR GOLFWEEK TOUR
Greensboro, NC
May 30, 2015
In a season where Golfweek Tour members have faced poor weather and less than perfect course conditions at almost every stop, Forest Oaks Country Club was a pleasant change. The course was in great shape and sunny skies combined with temperatures in the low 80s that made for a most enjoyable event.
A number of Tour players took advantage of the excellent conditions to post some of their best scores of 2015. Leading that group was Stokesdale's J. Combs, who fired a 74 in B Flight competition. Past National Champion Bob Sheahan was one stroke back in 2nd. Combs, who has been hot lately "on-Tour" moved his Tour handicap into A Flight range with is 74 and will be moving up in competition with his next event.
Another Golfweek Tour past National Champion, Daren Green of Durham, also came up big with a 75 to take top honors in the A Flight. He was also just 1 shot clear of his nearest pursuer, Greensboro's Scott Gillsepie who was competing in his first Tour event.
Edenton's Denise Justis enjoyed her first "pay-day" in Tour play with an 87 that won the C Flight. She edged 3 players by 2 shots - Staley's Billy Sell, James Lingo of Rocky Mount, and Greensboro's Ken White.
It took extra holes to determine a winner in both the Championship and D Flights. Kernersville's Sean Pardue and Russ Patterson of Winston-Salem both shot 76 to advance to their sudden death playoff, while Durham's Tony Eaves and Piney Point Maryland's Mike Charles posted 91s to get their shot at extra holes.
Unfortunately stellar golf didn't prevail in the playoffs as Pardue was able to take the Championship trophy on the 1st playoff hole with a bogey, while it also only took one hole for Eaves to prevail in the D playoff with a double bogey. "Hey - a win is a win", said Tour Director Bruce Hallenbeck. "We didn't take anythiong away from their prize money for winning with less than pars".
Next stop for the Golfweek Tour is Longleaf Golf Club on June 6. There are openings available for that event.

Rules Review
It has been suggested that there should be a series of Rules scenarios for you to solve. So begins a series of problems titled What's the Score?
Doc Miller has graciously agreed to allow me to share these with you that he has been sending since July 2009.
I will include one each week. You should try to determine the answer based upon your knowledge of the Rules when ever possible and then use your Rule book to confirm.
There will be no trick questions or hidden information.

===============================================================
Tour Weather Guidelines:
Primarily, we adhere to the same guidelines that the PGA Tour uses: If the course is open, we're going to play.
The only exception to this is that I'll never put any of you in harm's way during an event because of dangerous weather. (i.e. - lightening or severe cold and wetness).
In other words, I won't let the course "bully" us into playing where an unsafe condition might exist.
Because I arrive at every event at least two hours prior to the start time and I generally have to leave my house at least an hour before that to get to the course, there is no sense calling me just before the event, because I won't be at the office. The best avenue to take is to call the course if the weather seems threatening.
If you are on the roster for the event, and you do not get a cancellation notice from the course after calling them, you are expected to show up in time for the scheduled shotgun start.
