2020 Champion Auto Lift Recap

The weather was hot and humid, but some wind helped us feel a little cooler. 108 golfers from Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas, California, and New Mexico converged on Branson, Missouri for the Champion Auto Lift Open at Buffalo Ridge and Branson  Hills golf courses. In spite of social distancing and the lack of the post-game group celebrations, we had another successful golf tournament.

In the Champ flight, Josh Semeniuk (Kansas) took home top prize with a 2- day score of 4 over par. Coming in 2nd was Dustin Cole (Arkansas) at 12 over (76-79-155). Finishing off the Champ flight was Larry Langley (Arkansas) at 14 over par (78-79-157)

In the A Flight Dan Kohnle (St. Louis) bested Garrett Routh (Kansas) and Mike Norwood (Arkansas) by 7 strokes. Dan shot 9 over (73-79-152) and Garett shot. Garrett and Mike shot identical 159s with Garrett winning the 2nd place finish by shooting one stroke better than Mike on the second day.

The B Flight was a little closer with first and fifth separated by only 3-strokes. James Colgrove (Arkansas 75-90) hung on by one stroke to beat David Watson (St. Louis 80-86-166). Tying for third with identical 167s was LR Gardner (Arkansas) and Kenton McWilliams (St.Louis). LR got the 3rd place nod by shooting one better on Day 2. Finishing out the paid places in the B Flight was Kirby Rogers (Arkansas 83-85-168)

In the C Flight, Rob Luter (Arkansas) continues his winning ways by winning his fourth tournament this year. In a consistent 2 rounds, he shot 84 both days to best Micheal Konuch (St. Louis 86-87-173) by 5 strokes. Todd Carter (Arkansas), the first round leader, closed with a 92 for third place. Tying for fourth place at 174 were Mark Brouk (St. Louis) and Phil Smith (Arkansas). Mark got the fourth place cash based on a better second day score. Rounding out the paid places in the C Flight at sixth was Nick Taylor (Arkansas 90-85-175).

The D-flight was won by Leisa Watkins (Arkansas) with a 175 (86-89). Second place was won by fellow Arkansas Tour member, Rodney Guillentine (93-89-182).  Colin Dooley (St. Louis) took third place (92-91-183) and the final paid place in the D flight went to another Arkansan, Bryan Weaver (89-96-183).
