2018 Potomac Shores Recap

Contributed by Sean Naylor

Kelly Holliday earned the win in the Championship Flight. Holliday continued his consistency on Sunday after posting an 80 just 24 hours earlier. He made two birdies and seven pars on day two, en route to a total card of 162. Aaron Grocholski took second with a 171.

Scott Kennedy had a strong weekend in the A Flight. Kennedy posted a five-over-par on Saturday. A day later, he posted an 81 thanks to two birdies and eight pars. His 158 was good enough for the victory. Dave Baca placed second (163) while Ginny Jung rounded out the top-3 with a 171.

The DC Metro tour saw a playoff in the B Flight. Ben Hall held a one-stroke advantage over Steve Ogletree after Saturday’s round. On day two, Ogletree took the lead and held onto it until the final hole, when Hall made a par, which forced a playoff. Ogletree earned the one-playoff win. Stan Boyer placed third (183) while LC Cheeks carded a 185, good for fourth.

Don Upright took the top spot in the C Flight with a 178. Bill Noel placed second (183) while Milton Tyrrell rounded out the top-3 with a 190.

In the D Flight, Shawn Doyle earned his second win in a row after carding a 196 during the weekend. Dan Delmore edged out Shaggy Brown by one stroke, 202-203, to take second. Don Stackhouse placed fourth (204).
