Aaron Grocholski trailed Kelly Holliday by two strokes heading into the final round. He took the lead on No. 2 and didn’t let up, finishing with a total score of 151 – six strokes better than Holliday, who placed second. Grocholski made two birdies on the back Sunday. Michael Flis rounded out the top-3 with a 160.
It was a close one in the A Flight as the top-4 spots were separated by just one stroke! Jeff Snowden earned the win with a 161, edging James Kauffman by a stroke. Snowden held a lead after day one and made shots he needed to down the stretch to finish at the top. Dave Baca placed third while Chris Ryan, of the Houston tour, and Mike Garland tied for fourth (164). Ryan shot an outstanding 2-over-par on Sunday to work his way to the top of the leaderboard.
Play was pretty consistent in the B Flight between both days. Stephen Lee made two birdies on the final round to expand his lead and earn his eventual win (164). Fredy Carreon finished with a card of 170 while Daniel Donovan shot a 175, good for third place.
Nick Klapaska took the top spot in the C Flight (166). His start, a 10-over-par performance, was good enough to hold the lead as he and Darin Sams both shot an 85 on Sunday. Sams placed second with a total score of 175. John Son, of the Philadelphia tour, edged out Earl Swinson by one stroke, 183-184, for third.
Keegan Murphy’s strong first round was the difference maker this weekend. He held a six-stroke lead after 18 and the shots necessary on Sunday to win it (179). Michael Misiaszek took second (182) while Adil Baloch rounded out the top-3 with a 185.
