The GOLFWEEK Amateur Tour in Indianapolis is the oldest and largest Amateur Golf Tour dedicated to Amateur Golfers of all skill levels. No qualifying required. For men and women, young and old. We use some of the best championship golf courses in and around the Indianapolis area to host our tournaments, making your experience the best possible tournament atmosphere that we can provide.
When you sign up for the tour, we will place you in a flight based on your current USGA Index. If you do not have an official handicap, no problem. We will need your last five scores with the course name and tee box played from; we will calculate your handicap using those scores. During the tournaments, you will compete against other players from your flight in a true stroke play event. At all AGT events, the top golfer in every flight wins a Trophy and a Visa Gift Card, and all participants will earn points toward a season-long championship in their flight. Prize Pay-Outs are based on the number of players in your flight.
We are introducing a Net Division in 2026! No matter what a player's AGT Index is, everyone will have a chance of winning the Net Division. It's a tournament within a tournament, where you win based on your Net Score. Your net score is the difference between your gross score and your AGT Index. It's a Net Division, so there will be only one winner selected from all five flights. The winner of the Net Division will receive a Visa Gift Card and a Trophy. Players must have at least one round played in our tour to be qualified for the Net Division. Only your AGT Index will be used; outside handicap indexes like GHIN will not be accepted.
Cash Games in each tournament: We will also have optional cash games at each event. These include Skins, Super Skins, and Closest to the Pin Contest on the Par 3s.
Listed below are the flight assignments based on your handicap:
Note that once you become a member, we will maintain your handicap (AGT Index) on our website based only on the tournaments that you play in our tour.
At the end of the season, the season-long points winners from each flight will be awarded a special trophy and their next season membership fee will be paid. Also, at the end of the season, the overall points winner among all players in our tour will receive a special trophy and their National Championship fee will be paid.
The top 10 in each flight have the opportunity to compete in the National Championship at Hilton Head Island, SC in October every year. Over 1000 players from 50 cities will compete in this 3-day, 54-hole event each year.
Regional Tournaments: As a member, you can play as many regionals as you want. Only the first three regionals played by any player will count for 100% points. All Regional Flight Winners will qualify for the National Championship in Hilton Head in October, provided the minimum number of tournaments are met. Regionals will not be counted as one of the host tour's local events; so no player will be permitted to make-up points.
Indiana Cup: In the month of August (exact date will be decided depending on the event date), golfers who finish in the top 3 in their flight receive an invitation to participate in the annual Indiana Cup event, where Indianapolis tour players will play against the IN/KY tour for the Indiana Cup. We won the cup in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024; we lost in playoffs in 2025. We will bring the Indiana Cup back to where it belongs in 2026!
