Checking In
Tournament Check-In Required
  • Players must personally check in with the Tour Director or at the check-in table at every tournament (including Day 2 of a 2-Day event).
  • Check in at least 20 minutes before your assigned tee time.
Late check-in: Failure to check in 20 minutes early may result in a 2-stroke penalty.
Reminder: You may not participate unless a current-season Join the Tour registration form has been completed.

Where is check-in?

Go to the registration area as soon as you arrive. It is typically inside the clubhouse, but may be set up outside under a tent.

Optional Cash Side Games Pay at check-in
  • The Tour Director may offer optional cash side games during check-in.
  • Verify your flight on the official scorecard (flights are assigned via handicaps, so it’s important we have yours correctly).
  • All cash games must be entered during check-in and paid up-front.
  • For 2-Day events, all cash games must be paid in one payment on Day 1.
Cash games and amounts may vary by Tour. Check with the Local Tour Director for exact guidelines.

Common cash games

  • Flight Skins (some flights may be combined depending on field size)
  • Super Skins
  • Closest to the Pin
Local cash games (example):
Par 3 Challenge — $10
Super Skins (All Flights) — $10
Individual Flight Skins — $15
Local note: All cash side games must be paid up-front in CASH.
Arrival Timing Checklist Be ready

Allow enough time to:

  • Do your normal warm-up routine
  • Find your cart (with your name on the cart sign) and stow your gear
  • Hear on-deck tee time announcements and instructions
  • Be at the first tee 10 minutes before your assigned time
Shotgun starts: You must be in your cart in the marshaling area to hear the course brief 20 minutes before the scheduled start.
Scorecards & Live Scoring First tee
  • The Tour Director will be at the first tee to announce any rules for the day and provide scorecards.
  • You will have an Official Scorecard (signed and turned in) and a Non-Official Scorecard for the group doing Live Score.
  • You will not receive scorecards at check-in.
On the First Tee Before you tee off

As soon as you receive the official scorecard (before anyone tees off):

  • Check that all player information is correct (names, flight, tee box, etc.).
  • If something is wrong, resolve it with the Tour Director. If not immediately available, notify your group and mark the issue on the card to fix at the turn or before signing.
Do not delay play to fix information that does not affect the round. However, anything that would cause you to play from the wrong tee box must be fixed before starting.

Before play begins

  • Exchange scorecards within your group:
    • Each player’s score is kept by another player (“marker”).
    • Whenever possible, do not mark for the player who marks you, and do not mark for your cart-mate.
  • Identify who will keep the paper scorecard and who will keep Live Score (both required).
Paper scorecard is the official score.
  • Local rules will be provided by the Director/starter. Local rules take precedence over Tour/USGA rules.
  • Identify your ball with a distinctive marking and show playing partners.
    • If you cannot positively identify your ball, it is considered lost.
    • A provisional/new ball must be clearly distinguishable from the original.
    • “One-ball rule” is not required for local/regional events unless the host Tour Director states otherwise.
  • Maximum of 14 clubs.
  • Follow the starter’s order of play; if no starter, start in the order listed on the scorecard.
