Trump – Ferry Point in Bronx, NY was the venue for the 2015 Season-opening tournament for the Golfweek Amateur Tour-Metro NY. Tour members competed on this Jack Nicklaus designed Links style tournament course.. Trump Golf Links Ferry Point open its doors on 4/1/15 and this was the 1st official Amateur Tournament held at the course. With the wind blowing all day, the course was a nice challenge for the field of 70. All the staff at Trump – Ferry Point made certain that their championship golf course was in great condition for our event.

Phil Gutterman (40-40, 80) took home the trophy in the Championship flight. Finishing 4 strokes back was Jody Barrett (43-41, 84) of the Nashville Tour. Teeing off early wasn’t such an advantage as wind was howling early.

Tour veteran Joe Arnold (40-41, 81) took the season opening trophy in the “A” flight. Just 2 strokes back, we had a tie for 2nd place between Victor Lugo Jr. (43-40, 83) and Cris Guyadeen (40-43, 83). Victor took 2nd place prize on a match of cards.

In the “B” flight, largest field of the day, Matt Harris (42-38, 80) took home the trophy. Jimmy Saporito (43-40, 83) and Scott Bernstein (46-37, 83) finished in a tie for 2nd. Scott took 2nd place prize on a match of cards.

The “C” flight trophy went to Charles Hearon (45-41, 86), Charlie’s 1st win on Tour. Just 2 strokes back was Tour newcomer, Larry Calinda (45-43, 88) taking 2nd place. Another 2 strokes back was our own Vijay Singh (45-45, 90) in 3rd place.

In the “D” flight, Tour veteran Joe Scalero (46-45, 91) took home the trophy. We had a tie for 2nd place between Javier Santiago (47-46, 93) and Joseph Holzapfel (46-47, 93). Javier took 2nd place prize on a match of cards.
