Jamie Manning, Cooper Cram, Kris Brinker, Jim Manning and Joe Kulikoski all win at Dolphin Head
Jamie Manning started the day out hot birdieing three of the
first four holes. Jeff Wong caught
Manning on the ninth hole as both turned at 3 under par. The 10th saw both players birdie and
then Wong birdied 11 to take a one shot lead going into the twelve. The winds picked up substantially on the back
nine and so did the score. When Wong and
Manning stepped up to the par five 18th Wong had a two shot lead at
three under versus Manning at one under par.
Both players hit good drives and Manning knocked his second shot to
around 30 feet putting a bit of pressure on Wong to do the same. Wong’s shot however was more difficult due to
a tree right in front of his ball flight.
Wong decided to go for it and found the water and made double bogie
seven. Manning however made his putt for
eagle and a two shot victory. Even in
defeat hats off to Jeff Wong who had won seven straight tournaments dating back
to last year’s National Championship at Atlantic Dunes. To Jamie Manning a big congrats from everyone
as he is the first player to beat Wong in six months! Sam Hopkins and Andres Lopez both tied third
with 75 followed by Lenin Lezcano with 83.
Cooper Cram continues his dominance at Dolphin Head as he
wins again with a solid round of 78. Joe
Combs and Scott Edwards tied second with 80, Combs winning the card playoff for
second place money. Chris Novack and
Randy Dees both tied fourth at 83.
Kris Brinker had a big day winning by one shot with 81 and
also collecting the closest to the pin money.
Crys Peyton (Columbia) was solo second at 82 followed by Francis Cave
and Richard Davies with 83.
Jim Manning wins by three with 85 followed Derek Hopkins at
88. The win for Manning followed up his
sons win in the Champ Flight earlier.
Joshua Kirkley takes solo third with 89 followed by Ray Clark at 93.
Joe Kulikoski wins on the final hole by just one shot with
92. Joe Peny was second with 93 followed
by Tom Wendell and Al Smith at 94.
