After some very severe weather on Saturday, the sun popped out on Sunday for a gorgeous day of golf. The wind was no help though, as it was blowing up to 20 mph on Sunday.
Phillip Roberts took first in the Championship flight for the third week in a row, with Mike Carter finishing second, and guest Clinton VanDevender in third. Great job Phillip, I would move you up a flight, but there is nowhere else to go.
Joseph Malavasi took home first place in the ‘A’ flight with an 80, with Chris Gaddy taking second place with an 83, and John Pigg rounding out the top three with an 85.
Mr. Troy Weeks shot an impressive 77 to win the ‘B’ flight title, with second place going to Dr. Lynn Holt’s score of 82, and Jordan Jones coming in third with an 84.
Fred Bryant, shooting an 85, won the ‘C’ flight title, Greg Cryder came in 2nd with an 88, and Robert Canten finished 3rd with a score of 92.
Clint Ingram shot a career low of 77 to win the ‘D’ flight. Great score Clint! Max Dove took 2nd with an impressive 83 and Mr. Roger Howard took 3rd with an 86. Our ‘D’ flight guys are showing off! Jack Willis won the closest to the pin contest with Fred Bryant taking the longest drive prize.
The Memphis/North Mississippi Egolf tour would like to welcome Troy Weeks, Chris Gaddy, Chris Melvin, Alan Lindgren, Robert Canten, Shane Springer, Joseph Malavasi, Trent Burns, and Mr. Roger Howard as our newest members. I hope all the new members as well as the “regulars†enjoyed the tournament, and I thank all of you for your patience while we waited out the weather. The tour would like to thank the staff at Mallard Pointe for being so accommodating in the schedule change this weekend, and for doing a great job on Sunday. The tour would also like to thank Cryder Construction for sponsoring the longest drive and closest to the pin contests this week.
Welcome back Ronnie Moore!!
Again, thanks to all the members and guests for playing this weekend! Your compliments, encouragement, and even your complaints are appreciated. Any suggestions on improving the tour are encouraged and welcomed, as that will only help the tour get bigger and better as we go. I hope everyones family and friends are all ok after the bad weather this weekend.

The eGolf Amateur Tour is for amateurs of all ages and abilities. Members are placed in one of five flights based on handicaps. Flights are: Championship (0-3.9 handicap), A Flight (4-8.9), B Flight (9-13.9), C Flight (14-18.9) and D Flight (19 and up). This flight structure is new for 2010 and will ensure competitive play within each flight.
The tournament format is gross stroke play with USGA rules in effect. A software program tracks each player's handicap to ensure participants are placed in their proper flight. The handicap system has also been adjusted for 2010 to use the most current 11 AGT scores and throw out the four highest scores. The Tour's goal is to keep each player's tournament handicap accurate and in turn, insure each flight's integrity.
“The Tour provides everyday golfers a chance to compete like the pros,†says Dennis McCormac, founder of the eGolf Amateur Tour. “You don't have to be a scratch golfer to join the eGolf Amateur Tour; it is the Tour for the rest of usâ€. Also new for 2010, players who join and have a Tour handicap of less than 2.0, will have an opportunity to be chosen to play in an eGolf Pro Tour tournament during the season. To check out the eGolf Pro Tour schedule go to their web page (www.egolf.com).
