The next tournament will be held May 22nd at River Birch Golf Course in Amory, MS. This tournament is a "MAJOR", meaning double points. It’s not too late to join the tour, so sign up now!! The Egolf Tour follows USGA rules, is open to men and women of all ages, and follows all rules to maintain a person’s amateur status. For more info, call the tour director at (662) 321-5500 (Cell), 662-205-4562 (Home), visit www.amateurgolftour.net or egolf.com.
The eGolf Amateur Tour is for amateurs of all ages and abilities. Members are placed in one of five flights based on handicaps. Flights are: Championship (0-3.9 handicap), A Flight (4-8.9), B Flight (9-13.9), C Flight (14-18.9) and D Flight (19 and up). This flight structure is new for 2010 and will ensure competitive play within each flight.
The tournament format is gross stroke play with USGA rules in effect. A software program tracks each player's handicap to ensure participants are placed in their proper flight. The handicap system has also been adjusted for 2010 to use the most current 11 AGT scores and throw out the four highest scores. The Tour's goal is to keep each player's tournament handicap accurate and in turn, insure each flight's integrity.
“The Tour provides everyday golfers a chance to compete like the pros,†says Dennis McCormac, founder of the eGolf Amateur Tour. “You don't have to be a scratch golfer to join the eGolf Amateur Tour; it is the Tour for the rest of usâ€. Also new for 2010, players who join and have a Tour handicap of less than 2.0, will have an opportunity to be chosen to play in an eGolf Pro Tour tournament during the season. To check out the eGolf Pro Tour schedule go to their web page (www.egolf.com).
