New for 2011, each flight winner at the end of the 2011 Memphis/N.MS Golfweek Amateur Tours season will have their Tour Championship entry fee paid!!
For new players interested in playing on the Golfweek Amateur Tour, the tour is for amateur men & women golfers of all ages and abilities. Members are placed in one of five flights based on handicaps. Flights are: Championship (0-3.9 handicap), A Flight (4-8.9), B Flight (9-13.9), C Flight (14-18.9) and D Flight (19 and over). Also, official handicaps are not necessary to join and play on the Golfweek Amateur Tour, as you will develop a handicap while playing on tour. Tournament format is gross stroke play, with USGA rules in effect. A software program and web page tracks each players tour handicap to ensure participants are placed in their proper flight. Player tour handicaps will be monitored throughout the season to field the most competitive flights possible.
Golfers may join the tour at any time for an $85 seasonal membership fee. That fee includes a subscription to Golfweek, gift bag, and tour packet, and allows members to play in local tournaments, as well as other Golfweek Amateur Tour events around the country.
Everyone may register or join at anytime, so go ahead and join up now!

Golfweek Announces Debut Of New Amateur Tour
ORLANDO, Fla. (Nov. 15, 2010) - Golfweek magazine - the most authentic, authoritative and independent voice in golf - today announced the newest addition to its extensive events portfolio, the Golfweek Amateur Tour. Formerly known as the eGolf Amateur Tour, this unique event series offers non-professional golfers of all ages and abilities the opportunity to play against their peers in hundreds of competitive tournaments while also garnering national exposure.
"Amateur golf has been a driving force at Golfweek for more than 30 years, which is why this tour is such a good fit for us," said Jason Redditt, publisher of Golfweek. "The Golfweek Amateur Tour will allow us to go beyond the pages of the magazine to not only engage serious golfers on a more personal level, but also support and grow this segment of the competitive game."
With its newly minted name, this exciting amateur series begins its 17th season in 2011 with tournaments in 36 different cities across the United States. At each event, participants are divided into flights based on handicaps - ensuring competitive play at every level - and earn points toward a season-long points championship. Tournament format for all Golfweek Amateur Tour events is gross stroke play with USGA rules in effect.
"This exceptional tour has been a huge part of the amateur game for nearly two decades, thanks to both the quality and quantity of its events," said Armand Cimaroli, Golfweek's director of events. "In 2010 alone, the tour hosted more than 22,000 tournament rounds across 600 events, and we plan to expand the tour even further in the coming years."
The Golfweek Amateur Tour will have a dedicated page in the magazine. The page will talk about tournaments each week around the country, and any great tour stories. Also the magazine will do several front covers on the tour. The 2011 National Champions pictures will be one of the covers for sure. Weekly results will be posted in the scoreboard state section.
