Henderson, TN - If you don't hit the "short grass" at Chickasaw, your scores are going to be high! The rough was 4 to 6 inches most everywhere on the course, and if you were in it, you were almost a guaranteed bogey.........some a lot worse. Tree lined fairways also added misery to those who couldn't hit the fairways. Otherwise, if you weren't fighting the snakes and other creatures in the woods, it was a very nice day for golf.
Champ flight had Ed McDugle beating out Allen Thomas for first place. Ed turned in a 75 to Allen's 80.
Congratulations to tour vet Troy Weeks, as he won his first tournament of the season! Troy shot a very nice 78 for first. Thomas McMurdy continued his good golf with an 84. Points leader Jordan Jones shot 85 for third.
Jeff Donovan carded an 82 for the win in B flight. It came down to the last hole, as Jeff Donovan had a one stroke lead on Greg Cryder going into #13 (started on #14). Greg hits into the wilderness on his second shot, and ends up with double bogey as Jeff is making par for the win. Greg ends up second with an 85. Both Charles Fondren and Ken Bittles shot 86 with Charles winning on a scorecard playoff for third place.
Dennis Sensing won his third tournament of the season in C' flight with a 91. Second place went to Jose Oakley with 99, and third went to Austin Riggs.
In only his second tourney, new member Nathan Powell won the D' flight with a 92. Donald "Schemer" Harris closed the gap in the points race, as he took second place and points leader Lee Harris finished third. Congrats Nathan.
Closest to the pin #8 - Allen Thomas
