The Memphis/N. MS Egolf Tour had its 8th tournament of the season at The Dogwoods Golf Course in Grenada, MS on June 19th. The golf course was very nice, but the heat was very high! I believe the heat index was 109! Mr. Sanford and his staff did a fine job for our tournament, and we do appreciate it very much. We saw deer every day on the course, and you could almost pet these deer! Guest Jonathan Breth took first in the Championship flight in a scorecard playoff with another guest, Mr. Adam Irvin. Both players carded an 82. Our newest member, David Blair, shot a 76 to win the A' flight. Troy Weeks was second with an 80, and Jack Willis took third with an 83. Congrats to Mr. Blair on a fine score on a very hot day. Robert Goodson took the B’ flight title in another scorecard playoff. Robert beat out Mr. Ken Bittles as both players shot 84. Shooting an 84, Mr. Dennis Sensing took home 1st in the C' flight. Good score Dennis! Second place went to Max Dove in a three way scorecard playoff with Fred Bryant and Greg Cryder, who finished third and fourth respectively. Our guest from Pennsylvania, Steve Simon Sr. shot an 85 to take home the D’ flight title. A very good score indeed! Second place went to Charlie Sample with an 89, and Gary Tedford beat out new member Jason Morris for third place on a scorecard playoff. Closest to the pin on #2 was won by Fred Bryant (20' 6”), and number #14 was Jason Morris (9’). The longest drive was won by Billy Hopper. I appreciate all the Fathers and sons that came out to play on a very hot/humid day. I hope you all had an excellent Fathers Day. The next tournament is at The Big Oaks Golf Course in Tupelo, MS. Entry fee is $75, which includes green fees, cart, range balls, and prize fund. Due to the sudden August weather, we will start tee times as early as possible. So, sign up early, and bring a guest!
