Memphis Golfweek Amateur Tour's next tournament is the Isle of Capri Shootout at NorthCreek & WedgeWood in Southaven, MS on July 30th, 31st. This is a two day tournament with the first day at NorthCreek and 2nd day at WedgeWood. Food will be served after Saturdays round. Don't miss out on this one, sign up early!!
Tupelo, MS
- The tempeture was up and scores were down at Big Oaks golf course on the Independence day weekend. Temps were high with high humidity, but the champ flights Ed McDugle still shot a 2-under 70, and this with a double bogey on 18! Phillip Roberts shoots 74 for second place, and Ben Childers was 3rd with an 83.
A' flight was won by guest Jacob Bryan with a score of 79. Tour veteran Thomas McMurdy shot an 80 for second with Brian Rishel taking third with a 81.
John Pigg beat the heat and everyone else in the B' flight with a very nice 81. Way to go John! Jeff Donovan and Rick Kidder both shot 82's, with Jeff winning on scorecard playoff for second place.
C' flight was won by Dennis Sensings blazing 79! Wow! Great score Dennis! Second place went to points leader Shane Springer on a scorecard playoff win over Burt Wilkerson. Both players shot 83.
Shooting a score of 91, Points leader Lee Harris won D' flight in a three way playoff with Austin Riggs and Auston Herring for first place. Austin Riggs took second on scorecard playoff with Auston Herring.
