Hyo-seung Lee- Championship Flight Winner
Darby Creek golf course in Marysville was the host course for the 2010 Columbus eGolf Amateur Tour Masters tournament. A great course to play on any day but with 30 mph wind gusts a great course turned into a very tough course. With temperatures in the low 50’s and wind chill in the 40’s, 41 Columbus golfers took to the course in attempt to win the first major tournament of the year.
In the Championship flight, Hyo-seung Lee and Rich Young battled it out all round long. When the two players stepped off the 18th green Rich had already congratulated Lee on his victory. Lee posted a score of 85 to take home the top spot.
The biggest flight on the day was the A flight with 13 players. When it was all said and done Michael Bilderback was able to seal a three stroke victory over Jared Minor. Mike shot an 83 on the tough day while Jared turned in a scorecard with an 86 on it. Rounding out the top three was TSgt Drew Dentinger and his 88.
The B flight saw some low scores take home the top spots. Silvian Jayabalan turned in a low round of 83 to beat out Brandon Fraley by one stroke. Silivan, who is a newcomer to the tour, played a great round and was one of two golfers to play in shorts despite the cold windy conditions. The other player in shorts was Nick Pettit who finished third in the B flight with an 86 on the day. Maybe Silvian and Nick know something we don’t ïŠ
The C flight saw competitive scores all the way through. Jacob Bridges was the big winner today. Not only did Jacob shot an 89 to take home the top spot in the flight but he also won two skins that paid out $41 each. Brad Bressler and Dan Workman both came in with 91’s on their scorecards. Brad finishes second while Dan takes third on a scorecard playoff.
The D flight saw Wayne Dawson take home his second consecutive win. William Gilstrap finishes second today.
The next event for the Columbus golfers will be May 22nd at Westchester Golf Course in Canal Winchester. Starting tee times will be at 10am. Sign up early to be in the drawing for a great prize at the end of the year.
