Low Scores Rules The Day!

Phillip Petitti- "D" Flight Winner
The Columbus Division of the eGolf Amateur Tour held its second tournament and first major of the season today at Cooks Creek in Ashville, Ohio today. The weather cooperated with the golfers and the rain held off. The temperature was a perfect 65* and the sunny was shinning. A perfect day for golf.
The Championship flight saw half of its golfers shoot 75 or lower. Taking home the top spot was John Fryman with his round of 73. John finished second in the first tournament of the year and as able to bring home the first place trophy this week. Coming in second was Tim Ford and his round of 75. Ryan Troup and Bill Esch finished tied for third place with rounds of 75 as well.
The A flight saw James Dunn take home his second straight first place trophy. Dunn shot a round of 3 over par 75 to capture that top spot. Sunny Kang gave chase all day long, but came up one stroke too many. Kang and his round of 76 took home second place. Hyo-seung Lee also shot a great round today. His round of 77 put him into the third spot on the leader board.
The B flight was not left out of the low scoring day. Billy Chang fired a round of 78 to take home the top spot and the first place trophy. This is his second win in a row. Coming in second was Eric Croker and his round of 82. Dennis Henderson rounds out the top three with a round of 84 on the day.
The C flight saw its top three scores all score in the mid 80’s today. Gary Andrews takes home the first place spot with a round of 84 on the day. Newcomer Melvin Harrington comes in second with his round of 86. Egbert Powell spent the day trying to chase down the top spot but came in third with a round of 87.
The smallest flight today was the D flight. But did that stop them from being a competitive group? Not at all. Only five strokes separated first place from fourth place. Phillip Petitti was able to bring home the top spot while Zachary Davis comes in second. Matt Bowman and Charlie Hoskins finish tied for third.
