Wayne Dawson- "D" Flight Winner
Cumberland Trail in Pataskala, Ohio was the host course for the eighth event on the eGolf Amateur Tour Columbus. The day was hot but the wind made the heat bearable, almost. A total of 41 golfers took to the course to battle it out for the crucial points. With only five events left in the season and the season long point totals getting closer and closer, every event and every point is important.
The Championship flight saw John Fryman win again on the tour. This was John’s fourth event this year and he has walked away with four trophies. John is one of the most consistent golfers we have on the Columbus tour. Shooting right around par in every tournament he plays. Today was no different. His 74 on the day was good enough for a four stroke victory over Ryan Troup (78). Coming in third was Michael Chester (79) followed by Hyo-seung Lee (88).
In the A flight, a first time winner emerged victorious. Eric Croker put together a great round of 78 to take home the 450 points and his first trophy of the year. The points help Eric move that much closer to catching the A flight points leader (Mike Bilderback). Coming in second was Kyle Gardner and his round of 81. Rounding out the top three was Jared “Melon†Minor and his round of 83.
Brad Herpolsheimer made it two wins in a row today by firing a round of 79 to take home the top spot. With this win Brad moves into second place on the season long points total list, just behind Brandon Fraley. Coming in second was Dennis Henderson and his round of 81. Rounding out the top three was Brandon Fraley with an 83.
A repeat winner was also crowned in the C flight. Keith “Big Daddy†Weaver won for the third time this year on the Columbus Tour by firing a round of 85 on the day. With the 450 points, Weaver improves on his first place standings in the season long points total. Coming in second was Gary Andrews and Jacob Bridges, both with 86’s today. Andrews takes home second place with a scorecard playoff of Jacob.
The winner of the D flight is also a multiple winner of the tour. Wayne Dawson was able to hold off the other D flight competitors to capture his third trophy of the season and increase his season long points total lead. Coming in second was Yoshi Arai followed by William Gilstrap and Shawn Augustson.
Congratulations to all the winners today and it looks like the races are heating up! Our next event will be on August 7th at The Links at Groveport. This is a Major event and 900 points are up for grabs. Sign up today to make sure we have a spot reserved for you.
