Phillip Petitti- "D" Flight Winner
Twelve tournaments down, two tournaments to go and a few flights are still up in the air for the season long points championship. Deer Ridge in Bellville, Ohio was the host of this week’s tournament. The rains came through in the morning but were gone by the time the 21 golfers took to the course.
In the Championship flight Tim Ford returned to competition and claimed his second win of the season. Ford put together a solid round of 77 to edge out Troy Boswell by one stroke. The two golfers battled it out on the course all day long but at the end of the day it was Ford taking home the trophy. Boswell’s second place showing today tightens the Championship Flight race with only two tournaments to go.
The A flight saw a new face come to the Columbus tour. Hyo-Seung Lee playing in his first eGolf Tour event fires a steady round of 78 to take home the first place trophy. Lee edges out Mr. Consistent Jared Minor by two strokes. Though Minor finished second for the second time in a row, he increases his already impressive lead in the A flight.
Eric Croker has made the B flight belong to him the last few tournaments. Croker finished today with a round of 84 to wrap up first place. Croker who has multiple wins on the season is currently in second place behind Angel Padilla, who finished second today, for the season long points championship. With two tournaments left and one of them a major, can Croker make a run? Let’s wait and see.
The biggest flight on the day was the C flight. Raymond Chamberglain turns in a round of 90 to take the first place trophy away from Buddy McBride, who shot a 91 today. The win puts Chamberglain back into first place in the C flight for the points total. However the C flight is going to be a close race all the way to the last tournament. Good luck to all the C flight players the rest of the way.
The D Flight was a close battle from tee to green. Phillip Petitti and Michael Kennicott needed an extra hole to determine the winner today. Both players came in after 18 with scores of 97 and headed back to number one to play one more. After the 19th hole, Petitti stood tall with his first win of the season. Not only did Petitti win first place but he also took home the only skin and the closest to the pin. Congratulations Phillip. D flight points leader Tank Burbridge finished third today. Another tight race that will get interesting.
